Insomnia

Sometimes I find myself staying up almost 24 hours. Some days I have to force myself to go too sleep or I have to take a sleep aid: melatonin or a muscle relaxer for my back or a gabapentin. I don't get much rest when I have a lot on my mind sometimes u have to shut your thoughts off especially if your mind is in overdrive.

You're absolutely right. If you are thinking when you are in bed you may as well get up and watch tv or read a book. My mind is the same and I take an ambien er.

Sometimes writing out the thoughts and just dumping them on paper helps calm my mind down so I can get to sleep.

You might also quit caffeine if you haven't already and stay off your screen time a few hours before bedtime. another thing is to try to resist worrying about not getting enough sleep and realize that you can function on little sleep and that eventually your body will surrender and you will sleep. I also find counting mentally backward from 100 slowly helps and if I reach 0 then I just start over.
