So, so tired

I'm so tired, even in the morning when I get out of bed I feel just as tired as I was when I got in 9 hours before. Trying to do normal but I'm struggling.

You’re not alone. I have young kids and a husband and I just move through the motions in the morning lately… but wish I could just stay in bed. Don’t give up.

Hi Jackiez, this can happen when we aren't going into a deep REM sleep.A light sleep even 9 hours doesn't regenerate our physical stamina. During

that time our subconscious mind may be playing the day's events over and over

causing us to feel as if we haven't really slept at all. :) xx

Yes that's what my doctor said too. I'm in a constant state of 'fight or flight' so even when I sleep I'm not relaxed.

I know just how you feel . I wake up as tired if not more than I went to sleep . When I check my fitbit app it shows very little rem or deep sleep and lots of periods of being awake . Does this happen more for you in winter? I'm going to try to get my vitamin d levels checked have you checked yours recently? Maybe worth a try

Take care

Yes I just got the results of my blood test and my vitamin D is low. I'm going to get a supplement, been told the spray is better absorbed than tablets.

Glad you have an answer I'm told that you should start feeling the effects in 2 to 4 weeks . I had a prescription for 3 months worth a couple of times pre covid . I was supposed to take for 3 months then get retested to adjust the levels but the hospital refused the test as they said it was too soon so I never found out what I was supposed to be taking forward. Then came the pandemic and getting into gp has been impossible. I'm going to try again today . If that fails I'm toying with paying bupa 700 pounds for a health assessment . But knowing me I will probably end up doing nothing.

Hope you start turning a corner when the supplements start kicking in

I’ve heard taking magnesium glycinate helps a lot with sleep/anxiety- not to mention heart palpitations. I also have a friend that takes lavender pills. Make sure that you don’t have sleep apnea too.

Thank you, I'll look into those. Not sure how to find out if I have sleep apnoea though!

Talk to your doctor about getting a sleep study done. It can be done at home. Dr office would give you the equipment and show you what to do.

Thank you, I'm in England and not sure if this is available. To be honest I think my problems stem from cptsd and I have to wait for therapy.

I really appreciate your support, thank you.

I'm sure it's available over there. But whatever is going on, hope it gets resolved.

Hi Jackiez, I hear you completely, I also hear many saying the exact same thing, how tired they constatly are, despite getting a full nights rest? So the question that comes to mind is, are we really getting the restorative sleep that we require? Sleep quality right? Persistant thoughts about the day, we're constatly reviewing things in our mind..sleep is crucial for all of us, I hope you are feeling less tired with more energy..its also been a stressful time these past two years, with covid and all..take care
