Hello,

I’m here again while having another panic attack.

Not as strong as before. But I’m managing.

I wanted to ask you guys if you ever experienced pain in the chest?

Usually for me it happens right after I eat something. I felt this before a while back. And it went away. My friend and myself think it’s GERD. I know because of lately since the holidays I’ve been doing nothing but eating and sleeping. Sometimes right after I eat. I also noticed the pain when I eat real hard solid foods.

Sometimes I do eat fast that I don’t chew my food as much as I should, I know silly. So I feel like this is what triggered my small panic attack. I know the panic itself can also add to the chest pain.

I also feel like a Cold sensation, Which also has happened in the past. So I feel like this is a case of GERD plus panic attack.

Thank you for listening

Thanks for your input glenninindy,

I’ve been laying around in the couch and bed too much. I didn’t notice last week feel a little better after taking an Over the counter anti-acid.

But just today I had a meatball sandwich and the bread was really really hard and I still swallows it. I think that’s also what made my chest hurt. Ouch.

alfreddy7 I love my pasta and meatball sandwich. Sometimes theacidity of the tomato sauce can cause a little distress from acid reflux. :) xx

Oh yes!!! Now that I remember I did have an apple for breakfast. I think apples have acidity as well.

And they’re a pretty solid rather than soft food.

I definitely feel pain in my chest sometimes.

I usually chalk it up to gastrointestinal or psychosomatic.

Maybe try drinking some cool water? It can help with gastrointestinal and help calm your brain.

Hi Rafiki11

I drink plenty of water. It does make it feel a bit better. I can feel the water cool in the chest after I drink it.

Other than that just the usual anxiety and headache cause of the panic nothing else hurts.

Just the twitching of muscles from the stress

It sounds like you know yourself and you work hard to take care of your body by staying hydrated and everything.

Is there something specific you’re worried about, physically or otherwise?

Can you do something to take your mind off everything? I’ve been gardening and that definitely helps. (It’s strangely warm here this month.)

And less anxious.

Thanks for being there .

Hello. I had Covid October 2020 and since then l have had chest pains. The CT scans and all the other tests l have had shows inflammation in my chest which they say it is reducing but l continue to get the excruciating chest pains which comes at the little things l do....when l eat the pain comes no matter how heavy or light the food is. It can be oats and l will still struggle. My chest will feel heavy. I also experience the pains when l talk but l am particularly used to that with my severe asthma. I have been taking Famotidine, omeprazole for my asthma already as l also get stomach pains especially when l do too much movements. I never had chest pains before with my asthma. It all started when l had the Covid.....l would say Cocodamol has really helped me with the chest pains and l also just lie down until the pains goes down. Have you had Covid in the past. I still have the effects of the long Covid which comes with this bloody chest pains at the little things l do. These doctors don't help much. Still check with them and see. All the best.

Hello MissCS

I had the same exact symptoms a year ago, which my dr said that sound like covid symptoms, so I got tested and it came back negative, also did blood test and they were clear. The chest pain left and here we are now again a year later.

Might also be the cold weather since I’m home most of the time and I have the heater on then I have to go outside in the freezing cold to walk my dog.

I also did some at-home work out for about 5 minutes and I felt fine. Pain was not there, of course I felt tired because I don’t work out as often, but I wasn’t out of breath.

Usually the pain gets better for me when I’m sitting up or standing up.

I’m gonna wait until the current covid surge settles down then go to my gp for my usual check up

I appreciate your reply and I hope you are good

You have to get it checked again when the Covid surge settles for sure. Are you asthmatic? Because some people with asthma also experience chest pains and Gerd....definitely get it checked again. I would say also that l felt better in August and only beginning of December l took a flight of stairs and since then l have struggled with the chest pains again. I think it's all inflammation. We will get better for sure 🤞

No asthma at all. All my family members healthy back to my grandparents both on my dads and moms side. I guess I’m the lucky one :(

It’s crazy because even before my chest pains came I said to my self I shouldn’t eat and go to bed right away I can get GERD.

And here we are, I didn’t listen to my own advice. I was eating junk too so that didn’t help.

It’s really nice talking to you. We will get better for sure 👍🏼

It could definitely be Gerd...and that is more to do with our eating habits l think. But don't we all have bad eating habits? We all strive to eat healthily but it is not easy. Definitely you will feel much better if you make changes to your diet. I should say the same thing to myself 🥰🤔. It's difficult not to eat the foods we love. I have made big changes to my eating but every now and then I still indulge in my favourites. Take care my friend 😍.

I have similar problems too. It mostly happens when I leave my stomach empty for too long, or when I am super stressed and stuff. The doctor told me to make sure I eat a little something every now and then, for example, fruits and biscuits and stuff. And also, drink lots and lots of water. Exercise helps a lot.

I know it's easier said than done, but don't stress out too much. Stress is a major trigger for acidity in our stomach. So try a little meditation on the side.

Also, at home, my mom adds carom seeds to boiling water when the pain gets really bad. So u can try that too next time.

Antacids and omeprazole are fine, but try not to take too much, alright?

Take care!

Hello Blueberryninja

I also spend hours without eating and sometimes I just eat 1 meal a day.

Thanks for the recommendations I will keep them in mind.

So sorry for your panic attacks etc...But I would out of caution go to see your doctor to rule out disease. Good luck. Blessings to you for the new year.💫👏💫🙂

Sparkling water swallowed will dislodge any jam if it’s dry food lodged there. Watch how big and dry are your swallows and try to go smaller and wetter. Doesn’t always fix, but comforts me that it’s just food. Also can try breathing deeply to your stomach after you eat because it can bunch up your stomac-physically raise it! - with anxiety.

Greetings,

I would have intense chest pains with my panic attacks. Remember to breathe! Also know that you're not crazy!

Life can be incredibly cruel, though know that there are folks who cherish you as a human being.

Take it a day at a time.

I agree. GERD and panic. Chest pains if you lay down to sleep right after eating. The good news is you can develop strategies to manage this situation. It is what I am working on.
