Through my work, I've known many children to get Covid and all of them have had mild illnesses and some no symptoms at all so I fully expect your son will be fine. Its also been quite common that fully vaccinated parents don't catch it from their children. Of course sometimes they do but not always. You're probably in for a difficult couple of weeks with isolation and fears about your health but it will most likely be OK.

It's very rare for children to suffer serious side effects so he should be fine, despite perhaps feeling miserable for some days. Look after yourself, use masks, ventilate rooms if at all possible.

hi my son is 11 also with covid didn`t show any symptoms till Tuesday and was sent home from school.he has autism unvaccinated as well.but he`s only showed one line for 4 days now and seems better.it`s hard not to worry but I tried to not keep mentioning it and just do the tests when he seemed settled.

I was extremely concerned with covid at the beginning. I think I've had it once, and yes, it was flu like and not great. But at this stage now I honestly believe it's massively less worrying than the media make it out to be.

As others have said, kids rarely struggle. My daughter has been positive and yet didn't suffer much more than a runny nose. I've known people of all ages have it and get over it. I've not known anyone personally die of it at all, and 'long covid' is debatable at the best of times.

You didn't mention what symptoms your son has or how ill he is, but I hope he's feeling better soon and I'm sure he will be perfectly normal once it's passed.

Hi. My 11-year-old twins had it in September before I could get them vaccinated. They slept a lot, had low fevers for a day or two, and got better quickly-after only a few days for my son and about a week for my daughter. Some mild respiratory symptoms in the very beginning. I caught it too even though fully vaccinated and my symptoms were worse 🙄 We’re all ok now, but we all have some mild change of tastes/smell that still affect what we like to eat. It’s scary but kids get through it pretty well if they don’t have other health issues. Good luck! 🤗

I’m not sure what variant your son has but my brother and sister-in-law both tested positive about 9 days ago with Omicron(they are in their 50s).

I was very scared for my brother as he has high BP and cholesterol, is pre diabetic and is obese. They are both double vaccinated and the only symptoms he had was runny nose, sore throat/cough and loss of taste and smell.

I thought it would really hit him hard but due to being vaccinated and it being Omicron it wasn’t.
