Just looking for reassurance

Hello! I’m currently spiraling into my anxiety after almost 4 years of maintaining it. I have horrible health anxiety and it’s once again getting the best of me. I guess I just need to know I’m not alone in this fight because I am drowning at the moment. I’m also very angry that this is once again dictating my life….

First- thank you so much for your response! I am definitely all for diving into something to focus on. Thank you for the idea. My brain is foggy in these times so solutions to my problems don’t come easy.

...you are most definitely Not alone! I have been having the most harsh anxiety these last few years..family passing, loosing my cats, daughter thousands of miles away, and not a single in person friend..add the dark and freezing Winters of Alaska, and I find myself amazed alot to bee alive still...my meds keep me surviving, and my dog, Yeti goes on walks with me; that help, but such a struggle to keep going without having someone to have conversations with, or physically feel love and compassion! Hopefully this gives you some strength and willpower to keep looking fer ways to feel @ peace and calm...👋😊💚

Hi! First, you are not alone, just know that! Ive struggled with it for years and just coming off a major 'spiral' last month. I've received so much help from people here, and though I'm sure people get tired of me saying it, the thing that has helped me more than anything is to listen to the youtube videos from DARE response to anxiety ( a program based from Barry McDonogh, based on the works of Dr Claire Weeks). I find I really get the most out of Michelle Cavanaugh's 'Step' videos, and especially like her 'What if" video. That one really hit home because it talks about all of the things we get anxious about things that 'could' happen. But the key thing is, in order to recover, we have to accept the fact the things we worry about 'could' actually happen. But we don't know if there's a .0001 percent chance they'll happen or a 99% chance. But just that it 'could'. But...its not happening now, where we are right now. So we need to learn how to keep our minds in the 'now'. Take some time to watch a few of the videos from the DARE team and see if it helps! But, you are not alone!

Thank you for your response! I will definitely give them a listen. Podcasts and YouTube are something I love to listen to when I’m anxious.
