I stopped taking my depression medication (setraline) about a month ago and now I’m feeling very anxious, not sleeping okay and over all not right. Went to the ER to get checked and all my blood work came back good and all viral signs were good as well. But I still feel like somethings wrong and idk of its all in my head and that’s a side effect from stopping my meds without my doctors approval. Please someone help me!!!! 😩🥺🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻

Why did you choose to stop taking your meds? Does your doctor know? Maybe you should go back on them.

No my doctor did not know I’m actually seeing him this afternoon so I know I’m more than likely going to get in trouble. I just got super weepy and started working so I stopped taking them. But something tells me I need to get back on them soon because I felt this way at the very beginning g before I even got on them from my anxiety attacks

I once got frustrated and quit taking my Prozac. About a week later I was having horrible symptoms and got really scared. It sounds like you might be experiencing SSRI withdrawals, though it taking a month to show up is strange. I ended up back on my meds and learned the hard way that you have to taper off slowly when you stop taking an SSRI. You should definitely talk to your doctor.

I must say I learned the hard way too. Pretty much he advised me to take them again since my depression symptoms are starting to come back. So we will see how I feel within the next few days or weeks. Pray to God I go back to feeling bit more normal again

You should always slowly taper off of any med to give your body and mind time to adjust to it. A good rule of thumb is to double the amount of time the doctor tells you to allow for tapering, they usually are clueless as to how it really feels and the actual amount of time that is best.
