Looking to move but I hate being alone. I know I can move somewhere with roommates but... It's hard to find good people to live with. Any suggestions/advice appreciated.

Hi 👋 it’s Shnookie. I understand what U mean by living alone. I have lived alone in my apartment since my beloved mom who was my best friend died from pancreatic cancer in 2016. It was an adjustment, but after being my mom’s caregiver I knew I needed to get on with my life. Yes at times it can be lonely. What I found out was that I needed to build a support group around me to ease me living alone. Do you have friends and relatives U R in touch with ? I will always be here 4 U and U have the group to reach out to for support. Do U have a job ? When U live alone U can do what U want in your place without being accountable to someone else. U can create an environment by example getting Netflix on TV, setting up music U like, meditation etc to take up your time with things U enjoy 😉 to do.
Hi it’s Shnookie again. Sorry 😐 I was cut off. Of course with a roommate U have someone to converse with, etc. if U R interested in a situation where someone is advertising 4 a roommate think of it as U R interviewing them try to meet them in person see what the apartment looks like get the reality of the financial situation U R entering into. U can personally message me. Hugs 🤗 S
Being able to be alone with yourself is the greatest gift you can give yourself.
This is true and I'm fine to be alone for a little while but I find I get depressed very quickly without company. I make sure to exercise, get plenty of sleep, eat well and I try to get out with friends as often as I can. I just really hate being alone at night.
It is learned not automatic. Plus our society puts a lot of emphasis on being with someone. I read recently that 40% of adults are on their own.
I understand what U mean by loneliness at night. There can be things that U can do that might relax U such as lavender bubble nights and listening to music U enjoy 😉. U were very kind to say that Ihave fortitude. There R things I sometimes do at night like going on this site, call up NAMI - mental health peer group. Talking to someone about how I feel and ask for input sometimes helps me. U can personally message me

I haven't read this but there is a wonderful interview with Krista Tibbet On Being Project. yalebooks.yale.edu/book/978...
Excellent point.
I believe that having one's own pet is a dependable way to beat loneliness. They say that one should get a cat when they have too much energy and want to share it with pets. At the same time you should get a dog if you feel lack of energy because dogs can easily share theirs with you. When last year I moved to Denver via this localnlongdistancemovers.co... company getting a dog was the 1st thing I did at a new place
