Creating things like this keeps the depression away for me

I decided not to get a real tree this year we just donโ€™t have the room so hereโ€™s this little one ... I havenโ€™t put the ornaments on yet but most of my ornaments are too big for this little guy

Something so simple

Can bring joy

I know people who have a Christmas room all year round for that reason

My son and his fiance have an artificial tree in the corner of their dining room. They leave it up all year and change the decorations. For Christmas they get a live tree and put it in their front window then decorate both trees.

Cool. Iโ€™m curious do they put seasonal decorations on like seashells for summer? I had a friend who did that.

They put seasonal decorations on and some holidays. Valentines day, St Patricks day, Easter then summer and Halloween. For summer they have pink flamingo lights shells and other things. My sons fiance has made many of the different decorations herself.

Hi Starrlight, I am one of those people who keeps my Christmas tree and decorationsup all year. Both in the living room and family room downstairs. Some days as I walk

by the little musical animated characters, I'm transported to a calm and peaceful state. :) xx

Looks Cute. Like the Mickey! I bought a real, Blue Spruce, one 3 years ago, only around 2 nhalf feet tall. It lives outside in a large Plant pot and I bring it in for Christmas and Decorate it. As it's now about a foot taller, I probably won't be able to bring it in after this year. But, I shall plant it in the Garden. As I did the last one. Saves waste and Cost about ยฃ17. ๐Ÿ‘

Im fine thanks, trying to stave off the feeling of gloom with the dark nights upon us and the colder days too,but just need to carry on regardless---glad you have moments when you try something different, something I sadly lack, though Im still trying....โค๏ธ๐Ÿ•โ€๐Ÿฆบ๐Ÿ˜Š

Keep trying yes. Do you have any type of thing I mind? Going out or staying in? Pottery? Watching the stars? Journaling?calling a friend or loved one? Taking a walk? Bible bath with candles and music? Ha I donโ€™t do most of these myself they just popped into my head. ๐Ÿ˜‚ Best to you!

That's beautiful!!!!!!! And such a happy tree!

Thanks ๐Ÿ˜Œ what is ERP? I looked on your profile.

โ€ข in reply toStarrlight

It's exposure response therapy....you make a list of least scariest to most scariest of things you either try to avoid, or do a compulsion to avoid the anxiety afterward....and start with the least scariest one. You expose to it and then sit with that anxiety until it goes down and don't do anything to make yourself feel better about the exposing to it. It's not to prove a bad thing won't happen after you do it, but instead to accept living with uncertainty. That's the thing you want to strive for is living with uncertainty. People with ocd always want to be certain there aren't any risks in the area of what their obsessions are, but it's impossible to do that however we continue to try. Ocd is relentless but it loses its grip the more you do ERP. I highly recommend Dr Jonathan Grayson's book Freedom from Obsessive Compulsive Disorder-A Guide to Living with Uncertainty. You can get it on Amazon๐Ÿ˜Š

Which fear are you working on? Howโ€™s it going?

โ€ข in reply toStarrlight

I have had this fear of fingernail fungus for a long time, ended up catching it twice, been clear of it over a year but still think of it all the time and have avoided touching lots of things and/or washing my poor hands way too much! Thank God I have been making sure everyday that everything is "contaminated" with the fungus (at least in my mind it is) for about 10 days now. I have to just keep being willing to be uncertain! What things would you like to work on????
