Got a baby Bear sighting, arrival 3/21

This little guy Bear will be joining our home on 3/21. He is a german shepherd. Im so excited about it, I feel like a child on Christmas Eve. I havent felt this good in a year or two so just had to share with you all. Also for those of you that encouraged me to take the water aerobics class, thankyou. I had to drop out after 2 classes as I couldnt take the heat/ humidity and chemical smell in pool room.... BUT the good part is to help pass the time on the 45 min drive in, my daughterinlaw showed me how to make a playlist on my phone. I had forgotten how much music can affect out moods. So my playlists(3, lol) are full of upbeat, makes you want to shake your booty kind of music! My hubby just rolls his eyes.. I might be “ going thru my second childhood”, I am enjoying these changes.

Yay. I may be old and AF gets me down but music is good for me and mental health too. 👵🏻💖👍🏻

Yes indeed

I definitely agree on the power of music to alter your mood.

Your puppy is adorable btw. I had a shepherd-mix for 13 years. She was really the best!

in reply to

Ive had a shepherd or a mix since I was 21, now pushing 67. Dont know why Im so attracted to them but they are just special to me.

in reply to

Do you have horses as well?

in reply to

Yes. When our boys were home we did alot of camping and trailriding. Now with aging horses and my arthritic knees, Im happy to saddle up and just ride around our place here. Our horses are much like our dogs, fat spoiled babies, lol.

in reply to

My grandparents had several different horses, belgians, quarter horses and golden paliminos -all for different tasks.

Sometimes I'll watch period dramas, not for the people so much, but for the horses. Especially the freshian horses! :)

in reply to

Draft horses are my favorites, so majestic! I learned to ride in a belgian/ quarter cross. Ol Sally was a tank😂

in reply to

Yes, and they were so gentle despite their size. :)

in reply to

Well have a great day on your farm. :)

in reply to

Thankyou so much💜

That’s what animals are for spoiling and cuddles. I love horses. I have a whole board in Pinterest with horses on.

Ive always been in love with horses. Had to marry a country boy with a horse to get my first one, lol.

💜thankyou!

Congratulations Hoski! A Pup is just what you need. Before I started to be not well, I trained German Shepherds for many years and raised several. I just have a couple suggestions for you to try so that you develop a nice relaxed relationship with your pup. They are very driven, bred to WORK all day, and need tons of exercise or they will drive you crazy. Your family should start a training program immediately, just a few minutes several times a day, you have to make sure the dog knows who is the pack leader. Maybe get some help from a dog trainer. Watch Cesar Milan shows.

Have lots of fun.

in reply to

Thankyou! Ive always been a Caesar Milan fan. Ive always had shepherds and shepherd mixes my whole life, but must admit as a fulltime working nurse, didnt put the time in. We r rural and the dogs always got plenty of exercise but now Im retired, Im studying training books on GSD’s and plan to give him everything Ive got. Wish you were my neighbor!💜

Btw if I run in to bumps in the road, do you mind if I pick your brain? Only issue I hope doesnt happen is our 6 yr old spayed schnauzer Gracie can b a bully. Im expecting good behavior from her. Fingers crossed.

in reply to

Of course! You just need to show Gracie that you are in charge and her bullying is not ok, don’t let her get away with it. Put her leash on in the house if you need to remind her.

He is gorgeous!

Look at the size of his paws!

He's going to be as big as he is beautiful !

Our old shepherd who died this winter was a big guy. Rudy always thought he was a lap dog, lol. He would sit with me on our yard swing and we would swing away our( my) problems💜. I have high expectations for little Bear.

in reply to

I love the sound of those big puppy paws on the floor

Hoski, sounds like my Brandy who I lost because of age.

I really think she thought she was my daughter. Huge, beautiful

features and yet a heart of gold who always wanted to be by her

mommy lol

I can't wait for your adventure to start on the 21st. Hope you will

be posting pictures along the way. :) xx
