I travel quite a lot. And sometimes, I get to go home and see my family. However, I accidentally left my medication over eight hours away...And I really don't know what to do if there is anything I can even do? When I googled it, it stated you had to be a "licensed medical blah blah" in order to send medication through USPS....
What can I do? Is there anything that I can do to get it sent back my way? It's eight hours away from me and I have not been fine without it.
I am uninsured at the moment and sort of at a loss as to what to do.

Your pharmacy will give you enough to tide you over until you can get a new RX which your doctor should be able to send electronically. If it isn't your pharmacy I would ask anyway. That is assuming you have to wait a day but if your doctor can send electronically you could have it the same day. If you are force to have it mailed I'd have your family wrap it up in a box like a fragile piece of glass in a box and send it UPS. It isn't like dogs are going to smell it anyway. Plus I believe the law is intended to deter Canadian orders not intra US shipping.
samack and Blueruth AH! Thank you both so much. I'll be honest, I was sort of in a panic and didn't use common sense in thinking to call my DR.
They are going to be attempting to send a script to me here. We are not 100% sure if they will be able to or not but, I will find out soon. Fingers crossed! Thank you again.
They should be set up electronically. All the pharmacies are so it is just up to the dr office.
In the UK our prescriptions come with a copy of the script. It may be possible to approach your chemist at home, show the copy, you may get a reduced number of medications to get you through. Sometimes on your next script they may take of the loaned medications. If you can phone your Doctor and He may be able to issue a script to get yourself through. They can here send out a script to a chemist where you can pick it up. It may be possible to see a doctor in that different area, if you eplain there may be around this.
The chemist generally has a list of Doctors where you are registered they can contact your surgery and arrange some medication too see you through.
In some cases, you can ask your doctor to send you a small dose to get you by until you get back home. Sometimes, the pharmacist did it for me without contacting the doctor when they knew it was a critical medication.
Hi iVita. Now I live in Canada and your situation has happened to me. I went to a pharmacy in the area I was visiting explained the situation. They contacted my pharmacy and filledmy prescriptions for the number of pills I needed. Good luck!
