Social anxiety… ugh!

Does anyone with social anxiety, or any type of attachment-related anxiety, relate to this?

I have problems with things such as making friends, getting into a relationship (I’ve never been in one but badly want one), or just the ability to connect with people. And if anyone has any tips or advice on being able to connect to people, it would be much appreciated!

But, I also have this anxiety that, if I do manage to make a friend or make a guy interested in me (which is extremely rare btw), I get even more anxiety. I get scared that I’ll say or do the wrong thing and they won’t like me anymore, so I just run away from the situation! It’s so annoying, because I want people in my life yet I become so anxious when trying to do so. If anyone has any tips, help or advice, please comment down below! Thank you!🖤

I can relate to that! And when I do meet someone, I jump head first and rush to be their BEST friend! It may be best to write down steps for when you do meet someone.

1- RELAX - most likely they are just as anxious as you.

2 - If you hit it off, then exchange numbers.

3 - text for a while - get to know each other a little better

4 - grab coffee together - force yourself to keep things simple and light

Gradually add more time together until you both feel comfortable together. Let it happen naturally. Make a "timeline" and stick to it. I know that sounds ridiculous- let it happen naturally but keep a timeline! But I think we tend to want to get to the good part and rush through the getting to know you phase. Don't rush, enjoy the journey.

Hello Chocoholic_18_x

I totally understand what are you passing through because I suffer from the same issue.

Being unable to make friends or new relationships is hurting us and we always blame ourselves.

It's not always about us. We're not always the wrong one while others are right. It's not like this at all.

It took from me a lot of effort to figure out that we have the ability to have contact with others but the problem is not us. It's about the community around us. We want people who look like us and that's need time and patience but we don't have to force and blame ourselves.

We will meet the good people at the good time no matter what time it takes.

And here on this platform you can make friends that will be one of your family members❤
