Is there a way out?

I was having a good day, I made lunch, I worked out and for a few hours I was distracted from everything that’s going on in my country. I live in Iran by the way, a country that many of you might not know a lot about. Anyway I checked the news at 2 pm today and realized that there’s going to be a new legislation that says people in Iran won’t be able to use the internet anymore, this means we will be disconnected from the world, we won’t be able to use YouTube, Instagram, telegram, WhatsApp, google services and etc. This also means that many people will lose their jobs and that this country is going to be the next North Korea. And I know for a fact that me and many other people desperately want to get out of here but we can’t…we just can’t afford it! We are stuck here. I really needed to let these feelings out because I don’t know who to talk to. Please hear us. Please try to broaden your knowledge of Iran (and other middle eastern countries) and what Iranian people are going through. It's funny I don't even know how long I will be able to use this gift...the internet!

My God, I am apalled. At this stage, that seems inhuman. I want to find out more. This is not right. You shouldn't have to go through this

I wish I had some political power or friends. I will learn more about this. It's an infringement of human rights. Sending you what support I can

I am familiar with Iran Sarah, have had a few friends over the years who had been able to leave the country. And if it wasn't for the oppression then everyone could visit the country, they would learn a treasure trove of culture, food, and a beautiful history. Once Iran was a centre of learning and reached out all over the world for scholars and knowledge. It's terrible sad you're going to be sequestered even more, and for what...politics. I'm so sorry this is happening when the opposite should be happening. If we could all just stop this madness the world is headed towards, and instead of more division, have more unity to solve these bigger problems like climate change, hunger, disease control, and education.
