I'm accepting the weather induced solitary confinement- LOL - can't UBER so I'm de-cluttering my house and packing stuff to take to donation center. Making my lemons into lemonade 😋 Thank you for asking hb03...
I agree to some extent. We can change our outlook, our perspective, our attitudes, our negative cognition to more positive. The problem with Depression is it leaves one to OVERTHINK and overznalyze, obsess and worry. Classic symptoms of the big D. Thinking and acting are very interwoven. Thoughts are intangible. I like concrete approach with clearly actions. I would say with confidence that any approach to help depression that isn't primarily routed in behavioral change could easily fail!DV
You are missing a piece of the big picture...neuroplasticity. We can change our brain. We can control & change our thoughts and emotions. It's possible. I've done it. You can too.
Yes me too my thinking changed when my behavior changed. I'm not missing anything. If we don't agree. That's ok. This debate has gone on throughout history with many great spiritual, philosophical and now psychological leaders. I can only be True To Myself. You are FREE TO THINK FOR YOU SELF!DV
Im not trying to debate anything. I think for myself. Just trying to help. Just letting you know that there is a light at the end of the tunnel and it's possible to feel better. Good luck to you and I hope u feel better.
I have extensively researched, participated in and experienced for my self the wonders of a neuroplastic shift. For me the behaviors that brought that to me were:
Emotional purging
Griefwork
Meditation
Yoga
Relaxation
Chemical brain enhancement
To only name a few models.
So its only a semantical difference to me. You say tamato and I say tomato.
At the end of the if anyone has something that works then we ALL are better.
