I have been taking 20mg for about a year now since getting health anxiety through lockdown. I am very well now after going through hell initially and feel ready to give it up. I notice that if I forget to take it for a day or 2 that I feel even better!! Does this suggest I am ready to get off it now? I understand that some bad feelings might come back initially through withdrawal and am just keen to hear about other people's experiences whilst coming off it and what your doctors suggested versus what EXPERIENCED users did 😀

I stopped Celexa. It helped me for years, but slowly started losing effectiveness.
I can't remember Celexa's half-life, but you can look that up on the Net. I think it's in your system longer than a few days after you quit, so a couple of days isn't a good gauge.

I've been gradually coming off citalopram over the last couple of years. After discussion with her, my doc was happy to let me manage the decrease in dosage as I felt confident to do so. I was on 30 mg daily years ago so I started by reducing 1 day's dose every 3 days, by taking 30/30/20 (repeated ) Then after a a couple of months I dropped it to 30/20/20 (repeated), then to 20/20/20 etc etc. I'm now on 10mg daily so will soon drop it to 10/10/00. Whatever you decide you want to do, speak to your doc first and then take any reductions slowly.
