When we are brave enough to sit with our pain, it deepens our ability to sit with the pain of others. It shows us how to love them.

Sometimes painful things can teach us lessons that we didn’t think we needed to know ~
My father aunt and grandparents were Jewish Holocaust survivors. I have learned plenty from pain. Over 90% of my father’s family were slaughtered simply because they were Jewish. This has made me an empathetic person but my family did not have to go thru this. I have PTSD from this and I don’t obsess about this but I truly don’t deserve this pain
I am saddened that your grandparents lived through such a travesty in History. Of course you know about pain. 💗
Thank U for your compassionate reply. When I finally see and I’m not getting political about the Biden govt. recognizing the Armenian genocide I thought to myself finally. However I believe that the members of our group have been exposed to all different kinds of pain. Each of has processed our pains and I believe that is one of the reasons why members of our group R so sympathetic toward others
I don't believe anyone deserves the kind of pain your family has lived through. I don't believe I deserved the pain I’ve lived through. I do believe my experience has helped me help others in pain. Pain they did not deserve.
I agree with U. I think I’m a much more empathetic person and have viewed myself also as a nurturing person. I’m sure that U possess these type of qualities as well.
This is the 6th time I’ve tried to respond to this post. I’m Shnookie have suffered thru migraine like headaches 4 most of my life and being the daughter of a Jewish Holocaust survivor. I don’t need more extreme pain to be more empathetic
Self-flagellation is not the answer. I come from a place of Love ❤️

And sometimes sitting with the pain of others teaches us how to sit with our own pain
Yes it does. 🌿
This is Shnookie and I have already wrote about how the Holocaust affected me and my family. However, when I’m going thru a particularly hard day, I think to myself, if they could have gone thru that hell, then I’ll push my way thru this hard day. I’m not saying that this works all the time, but it has helped me thru certain hard times
