Trying to overcome my fears !
Hi Gerrerd. You will be less fearful when you have learned ACCEPTANCE. Acceptance of self and the things we encounter in life. I think we are all afraid of some things . I for one! Acceptance means letting go. Allowing life to just be. They say it was fear many many years ago which helped an individual survive and I think this is true. Fear was protective. Running meant we stayed safe from the meat eating dinosaurs! For many today due to our DNA we still experience the fearfulness and it is often sometimes difficult to understand. The situations we encounter are different. (No Tyrannasaurus Rex!) A great phrase to think of which I read in a book once is FEEL THE FEAR and DO IT ANYWAY. Realise you CAN still so many things despite those feelings of panic. You CAN walk down the busy street. You CAN go into the shop etcetera etcetera. Fear wants to keep us from harm. It is inbuilt from all those years ago. We just need to realise in most situations today we are safe. Take care and God bless. x
