This is so draining for me at the moment, for the past week my appetite has disappeared 😪 I eat little bits, but not has much as I should. I do drink plenty of water and green tea. I go to bed at a okay time and then wake up and I still feel so tired, why is this? I've been staying in my room, either watching TV or just chilling watching hypnotised programmes on YouTube, I keep thinking im dying with all the thoughts going around in my head. I want to get back to my normal, happy and energetic self. Someone please help 😫. Is it normal to feel like this. I phone the GP a few days ago and they increased my sertraline from 75mg to 100mg, could it be this and they've given me 40mg proponal (beta blockers) I only take one when I start to feel anxious. I've phone so many hypnotherapist, I just want all this to go away 😩.

Hi there and welcome! That must be really frustrating for you and I'm sorry you're going through that. There are so many reasons that one could be tired all the time. These are the ones I can think of off the top of my head. I apologize beforehand if any trigger you or anybody else reading this, for that is not my intention:

-Mental stress -- burn-out over job, being in a toxic living environment, mental ability, etc.

-Emotional stress -- stress over the global situation, overthinking, negative thoughts, ruminating, etc

-physical stress -- illness, physical condition, etc.

-A combination of both the emotional and the physical

-Not doing anything can make one more tired because you aren't burning energy.

-Spending too much time in front of the tv screen, computer, etc.

-A sleep disorder

Hi so sorry you’re in so much distress. When I started taking beta blockers the fatigue was monumental, but soon passed with time. I believe it’s a common side effect. I also have a problem with my appetite due to depression. I’m now drinking a protein and vitamin shake for my morning meal. And please try to leave your room maybe for a short walk or just to sit in the sun. Baby steps, they add up. I know how hard it is believe me. I’m taking my baby steps now. It seems to be helping. Just be kind and patient with yourself. Wishing you the best of luck.

I haven't had a appetite for a while, probably about nearly a week and i started taking the beta blockers Friday morning, so haven't been on them long. I have take steps out my room, if I need to get a drink or toilet. I really need to step outside and take walks. I'm getting ready to get my head down now, maybe listen to some chilled out tunes or hypnosis to help me have a good night's sleep. I want to get back to my normal self now, its draining 😩 thank you for your reply, I appreciate it 🙏 x

HiIt will pass, give yourself time, it could well be anxiety and stress and your body telling you to rest. I felt exactly the same in the summer, appetite really low, went on antidepressants and had dose upped like you. Gradually over time things started to shift and I do feel noticeably happier now, you will get back to the normal you again in time. Baby steps are good, tiny achievements and I found even a bit of time outside walking helps a lot. And if you have bad days don't worry. Just know that it won't last forever.
