I’m new here. I have been suffering from generalized anxiety for the past couple of years. I have had some big changes in my life. - my mother died of Alzheimer’s 2016, I retired February 2017, my elderly father that I cared for died April 2017, broke my ankle Christmas morning 2017 needing emergency surgery and was laid up for 4 months. I believe I always had some anxiety and am a worrier but I think these life changes intensified it. I worry about every little ache thinking I have some fatal disease and I have a huge fear that I am going to get Alzheimer’s like my mother. To the point where I test my memory with everything. I have been talking with a therapist but hasn’t really helped. Recently started antidepressant in October but not working

Hi Eva. I want to join everyone in welcoming you to the group. Your anxiety has been fueled by a lot of events and circumstances beyond your control. But you took control today by taking the initiative to reach out and become part of this community . You’re already finding out that there is a lot of love and support here, and that it’s genuine.
