Genetic testing

Just wondering if anyone has had genetic testing for which antidepressant will work the best my psychiatrist recommend this as I have tried 8 in the last 2 years any feedback would be great

It was life changing for me. I tried a bunch of antidepressants and had horrible reactions to them all.

The test was super easy. The doctor ordered it, swabbed my mouth, mailed it off, and got the results within two weeks. And they were crazy accurate. All of the pills that really wrecked me were on the “never take” list lol and it turned out there’s only two that I shouldn’t have reactions to and one that I can take but in low doses. Then there was a longgg list of ones not to take.

And the pills it suggested work well.

Depending on the company, price is good too. They usually do it based off of income. And I make around $46,000 a year so my test only cost something like $214

Both my sister and I got the test - she tried numerous meds over years - I was put on numerous in a matter of months - it is very enlightening and you should definitely do it especially with more than a couple failed attempts!! Good luck!

It’s called my DNA test and you take a mouth swab and send it off. You can get it from chemist or online I haven’t got mine back yet takes 15 days after you post it off I’m just praying I get some relief it’s $99 but I’m in Australia hope this helps
