It's a series of 7 questions, and I thought it would be fun to share our answers. I can ask one question per thread and reveal what each question means at the end of each thread. Someone asked a group of us these questions on a road trip, and it was really interesting.
Question 1: Imagine yourself walking alone through a forest. What do you see? How does everything make you feel? What kind of trees are there? Is it dark or bright?
My Answer: I see trees that are very tall, thin, and reach into the sky. I feel in awe. It's not dark, and the sunlight penetrates through the forest through the leaves high above.

Gazing at the moonlit, star studded sky in a dense forest that has shades of color and shadows intertwined. The trees with thick branches and wide trunks towering over my bodily frame. The darkness engulfs me in a cocoon of warmth. A torch lights the path on a musty earth after a cleansing rainy downpour. Quietness except the nocturnal animals, my exhaling breath and soft footsteps. Soul searching and surounded by profound peace.
I start in darkness. Sun begins to rise through the trees and the light is brilliant,
I notice maple trees and the ones that look like Xmas trees ( no clue what they are called. I look at each tree as a family and an emotion. The tall straight trees are happy and at peace. The ones that separate at the tree roots and grow separate are trees that needed to go their own way. Some are dead or crooked in the branches, these tress are struggling with some inner turmoil. The ones that then show growth after the death are ones that conquered something.
I had dysfunctional families in mind the day I was analyzing trees. I saw my own life in all those things I described. Was the most thought provoking walk I ever took.
(Ok I haven’t looked at others yet so that I won’t get any ideas until I finish mine) I see speckled light patches so it is a little shadowy with on my dirt pathway though the sun is making its way through the trees’ various leaves, once lush leaves, but now some falling and scarce as it is autumn. The leaves are very colorful and so many different shaped. Some are hearts. I hear a tiger roaring in the distance. I am alone but I see a wolf on my path ahead and I am still peaceful. I am safe. This is peace the way it always can be.
I’m in the northwest. Bright sun. Lots of green. In front of me is one of those massive trees so big I can drive my car through the carved out opening. Redwoods? Little paths to the side with couples walking hand in hand. Smiling. I look at the empty seat beside me .I roll down my window and ask…anybody need a ride?🤷♀️
So here is how you interpret your results. It's so-so accurate for me. My parents were influential in my life (hence the tall trees), but they were kind of strict so I don't know why my forest is bright. Maybe because I still felt loved despite the restrictions:
The forest represents how you felt about the world as you were growing up.
If you see squirrels playing then you felt that the world was a safe place.
The trees and the light in the forest represent the interaction that you had with adults as you were growing up, and the impact that this interaction had on you.
The taller the trees, the more influence adults had on your life.
The lighting represents the authority adults had over you. The brighter the forest, the more you felt you had the freedom to do as you wanted and the happier you must have felt growing up.
The darker the forest, the more restrictions you felt were placed on you, and the more likely you were to find yourself in stressful situations.
There was no accuracy at all for me but I didnt expect it to be. It was interesting to read nonetheless. Thanks for sharing. I look forward to the next question.
Yeah, it was half and half for me. It's all just meant in fun, so I hope you enjoyed imagining your forest. I'm actually working on a novel right now, and noticed your forest was more of a writing prompt. Maybe one day, I'll post up a writing prompt question. That might be fun too.
It's really weird because I read your post and the comments other members made and then I imagined myself walking in the forest and the first thing I saw was squirrels running across my path and playing nearby eating nuts. I imagined tall trees hanging over me on both side but it was light and the path felt safe and was clear. I had to log off and did get a chance to visit your post again.I wish I had wrote my comment down in your post as now looking at the interpretation I've read what my walk meant.
Cottonwoods. They look like aspens but they need more space and the keep the earth below them nice and cool. The trunks are silvery and the leaves are starting to turn orange and blue. They let the view to the sky open up and it is blue with a pink sunrise. My 🐈 is exploring them and following the opossums for a while. She is fascinated because she has never seen one until recently. They go about their business.
Cottonwoods and opossums don’t live in the same environment but I like them both. It makes me happy to see 🐈 happy and in this world there are no coyotes and 🦊
