Anxiety about being sick

So this morning I felt fine when I woke up, aka no worse than usual since I have allergies and seem to always been on the verge of a sinus infection. I had some stress with accidentally making two insurance payments and getting no where with that. I then drove to work where we have our COVID procedures and have to take our temperatures. We have the no touch thermometers which I feel like aren’t super accurate, but I took it after wearing a hat in and it said I had a temperature. I panicked and went home to take it at home and the temp was significantly lower and only 99.2. Ever since that though I’ve been super anxious all day to the point where I feel like I’m making myself sick thinking about it when I know it’s just my sinuses like it usually is. When I go into a sinus infection I’ll usually run a 99 temp for a few days. But with all this COVID stuff I’ve been super paranoid and scared and it’s caused my anxiety to be horrible. Has anyone else felt like this? I’d love any advice or just positive words

I'm guessing that you have taken paracetamol or aspirin and your temperature has come down by now? If not I would take 2 paracetamol.

This should help to relieve the anxiety ?

What do you normally do for sinusitis? Hot drinks? Inhale steam (small bowl boiled water with a drop of Olbas Oil or few drops of Friars Balsam) or a little vapour rub on your chest?

Try to replace negative thoughts with positive thoughts - remember that you will feel better within a few days. Make the most of this time off work. Work towards making yourself as well & healthy as you can : plenty of hot drinks such as decaffeinated tea or hot Vimto or other squash; Keep out of draughts; eat well, plenty fresh fruit; a few early nights; if it's cold out weat a hat and scarf.

Just be super kind to yourself. Watch an old favourite weepy movie or light hearted old Disney such as Lady and the Tramp.

Avoid News programmes. It's ok to switch the TV or Radio off.

If you like reading, snuggle up warm with a good book.

Avoid milky drinks.

Yes! I have felt like you did more times than I can count. And the only people that seem to truly understand what people like you and I go through with our health fears, seem to be the posters on this site...I once paid (cash, no less) 1500.$ to be examined by a hernia surgeon 4 different times all because I was terrified I had re-injured my fixed hernia. He said at the last appointment-"you do not have another hernia..your problem is your fear of illness."...I recommend getting a covid test if that'll make you feel better.
