My 14 year old daughter is suffering with major anxiety because of a fear of being sick. It comes on the worst in the early evenings until she goes to bed. We are trying to help her thru this but I think she would benefit from a support group to share what is going on and get advice from others going thru the same thing. Is this a good place for her to do that? Or does anyone know of another support group that would be better?

Support Group for daughter needed
The age limit on here is 16 and over.
Sorry I don't know of any groups for her age .
Can't be easy for you.
Hi Awsmith78, I dislike to see a young child suffering due to anxiety. I’m happy that your looking for help, for your daughter, I wish some parents were that supportive. The first time I had an anxiety I was 13 years old. I was so confuse to what was happening to me and the fear I couldn’t understand that wasn’t there. The fear my mind was sending my body. My mother wasn’t support so I closed myself off to her. I couldn’t trust her cause she said it was all in my head. But I was young I didn’t know how to overcome them. So long story short. I’m an adult now and I live my life to how these anxiety make me feel, which sucks, because I feel it has robbed me of a life. So this is a good place for both of you. I’ve been doing some support groups online too. I’ve been attending NAMI( I hope I can mention that). Take her to get a counselor too, maybe start a journal and write down her thought. Sometimes letting the thought in our out can be helpful. It’s like a weight of our shoulders.

I don't think there is any age limit for using SHOUT (if you are in the UK).
Your daughter could text 'Shout' to YM85258 .
As far as I can tell from the website It's a text service. Conversation with a trained volunteer.
If a caller wants to end a conversation,. text STOP. To restart the conversation text START.
Edit
That's text
YM 85258
Parents helpline is
0808 802 5544
If in USA you / she could try 211
Sorry to hear that she is struggling with this. Definitely easy to understand how that fear takes root in the midst of a pandemic. If she is connected to a school, the school counselor(s) should have either support or referral resources to help her out.
