so im 26 and just moved to Los Angeles, I would love to meet up. I am no longer a teenager but am desperately looking for a support group or just a friend that can relate to me and just have someone to talk to and meet up with. Its hard living somewhere where you don't know any one esp with OCD, body dysmorphia, ADHD, panic disorder accompanied with agoraphobia, generalized anxiety disorder and depression. I typically don't list any of those but I wanted to make sure you knew I could relate.. let me know if tour interested in meeting up or trying to start a support group together! I have been in IOP with people between the ages of 14 and 56 .. they were two diff groups but age doesn't matter as long as its about something everyone can relate with and offer advice to or just have an ear to listen you know? let me know!
Definitely !!! My boyfriend has an app on his phone where people create meet up (it might even be called meet uo) groups about whatever they want and decide where to meet and can have weekly or monthly or whenever they want group meeting ups! About anything. I have looked at it there are groups for people that love to talk about space, to groups about politics to groups for addicts to groups for ocd to groups for hippies. It’s anything you want to create and the app advertises it for you!! I’ll have to ask him he name of if and I’ll tell you and I’ll create one!! That would really help me out i really have been wanting to find people here that i can have for support group without having to pay money for group therapy. So let’s do this!!!
Natalya213, I agree that it would be great for teens to have their own support group however what is most important is being SAFE... Being on this forum, your identity is protected as well as the forum is monitored. Sometimes large hospitals have support groups run by a therapist, but even with that it only goes by first names to protect each person's privacy. Just a thought xx
