I’ve read the posts on ruminating and wonder if saffron oil and cbd oil are still helpful. The original post was many months ago. Thanks.

Ruminating
Hi, I’ve just started using cbd oil, am a bit wary but will give anything a go. I will post in a couple of days and let you know how it’s going 🤞🤞
Hi Cimmy. How did the CBD oil go?
Hi, it’s going well I think, took a bit of time getting used to the taste as it is quite unpleasant. The effect it is having is I feel more relaxed and my pain doesn’t seem so bad but I not convinced it’s down all down to the oil. I think maybe it is liken to a placebo effect, so the jury is still out on the oil I think
I know what you mean. But a placebo effect is still beneficial right? Glad you feel better.
Thank you, I still have bad days, which today is one😞, I’m trying so many different things to see what might make a difference, I just want to feel “normal” again, how are you doing?
Sorry you had a bad day. Thanks for asking. I’m Struggling with rumination and the severe anxiety it causes. Distracting myself in the day is somewhat successful but trying to sleep at night is the worst. When I finally sleep my brain keeps waking me up with the same horrible thoughts of regret. Still searching for a therapist- no one is calling me back.
Ruminating is so hard to stop. I try to redirect my thoughts and do ok during the day, but like you said, nights are the worst.
Yes, nights are the worst.
Last night, I watched a video that said when the rumination starts, to immediately get out of bed and move around in order to trick the brain into thinking that the problem is being handled. And then to visualize something that is extremely positive. I haven't tried it yet. I feel too exhausted to get out of bed since I've been sleeping so badly.
It is so hard to switch off your thoughts, mine seem to haunt my every waking hour, but I must say I sleep very well, probably to well but that’s the medication I suspect. I hope you find peace soon, take care
If don't mind, may I ask what medication that is? How does it help you to sleep? Because it makes you drowsy or because it calms you down?
I take mitrazapine, which is an antidepressant but it aids sleep and is only a tiny dose 7.5mg before bed, so the side effects are minimal and it does relax you, it might not be right for everyone, it certainly helps me though
