I survived from a Panic Attack

I have to tell you guys last night I couldn’t sleep. My skin was crawling ,with anxiety. My mind was racing I thought I was about to have a panic attack. I was getting nervous, worried and my breathing swallow and short . If any can relate , you know what I am talking about.

So. I lay there, I grabbed my aromatherapy therapy bracelet which I recently I bought, I had put Jasmine essential oil in it a week ago. As I was experimenting with different oils. So I lay there and took breaths, inhaled the scent. I was able to calm down and fell asleep peacefully.

I am not kidding you those essential oils work. Whether you put it on a Kleenex, paper towel , cloth or necklace and breath in and out and inhale it is so soothing. I use to use the Lemon grass one on a paper towel and inhale as-well. To me personally anyway they work with anxiety and panic attacks

I'm so happy to hear aromatherapy worked for you.

I've yet to try it. Where did you order yours from?

Does it have a powerful smell? Keep going forward :) xx

She hasn't come over yet because of the snow storm.

I hope this works for her so she can stop popping a Xanax.

Hi Agora,

I have been off the computer a bit and don't remember where I saw the post, but I think you said something about finding volunteer work, and that it was a help to you healing. Did I get it right? I can't figure out how to find something I could do (with my pain and emotional problems), but I would like to try. How did you get started? Do you have any suggestions where I could look?

Hi Nothing but pain, I hope you are okay.

But for me, it was always hospital work that helped me through.

Started out with delivering flowers to patients in the hospital as well

as mail. It's volunteer and you always have some backup behind you.

Working by myself in this role, made it easier to get through any anxious moments.

There's always the front desk which I loved but is more stimulating.

And finally there was volunteering, actual patient interaction at a Veteran's Hospital.

It's ironic that I never had to call in sick, I actually enjoyed it so much that I would leave work knowing I might have brightened someone's day.

I'm sure there are others on this site that have done volunteering as well and found

it rewarding. Do you like animals? Good Luck, you won't know if you can do it

until you try. :) xx

Thanks for responding so quickly. Everything runs into the impediment that I can't stand more than a minute at most; can't walk almost at all. I love animals, but could not work at a kill-shelter.

I understand your concerns and issues. There will be sit down jobs available I'm sure

the bigger problem is that you need to be ready to take that first step. :) xx

Do you like to paint or draw? When I say donations I mean like donate $5 or whatever. It counts. I donate to the abuse of children like help them for therapy and stuff or donate for homeless. Just random ideas. Sorry if they are whack

Nothing_but_books profile image
Nothing_but_books in reply to Survivor4Ever

I'm sorry, I don't understand. Why do you ask about painting and drawing?

Survivor4Ever profile image
Survivor4Ever in reply to Nothing_but_books

Because if people like to paint or draw or make collages people like in Assisted Living Homes, children in Hospitals would love to have and see your stuff that’s why I ask. They don’t really have anyone who does that for them . Especially like in nursing homes. There’s a lot of lonely people who love these things. I’ve been around them and remember this all too well . These are the unnoticed things that are very important that in great need as well. It’s the gift that keeps giving. That’s why I was curious. It’s for anyone really anyone on this group who enjoys to paint, draw, make collages who has the time, creativity and really enjoys doing these things of types of volunteering that people aren’t aware is needed also

Hi Agora. Couldn’t agree more. Volunteering can work wonders. I’m working for a cat shelter as of a few weeks ago matching people with cats to adopt.....incredibly rewarding.....

Hi I volunteer . Where to look is google volunteer near me put in your zip code. You could help donate the homeless, write letters to kids in the hospital who have terminal diseases . I called around different places. If your an artist they accept collages, paintings, letters, that you create at Assisted living homes for people there. You could also brighten someone who is on Hospice there with a special thing like that . I use to make collages . I would take magazine and cut out words, pics like scenery’s of beaches, woods,or flowers etc.. and put on posters and give them. Just some random ideas Food for thought

Survivor4Ever in reply to FearIsALiar

Survivor4Ever profile image
Survivor4Ever in reply to FearIsALiar

So the different scents are definitely great and relaxing. You can have on a necklace like those black rope ones or leather ones or those aromatherapy therapy called ones they make now. They say you can wash the felt tips again snd reuse them .

That’s great. Going to try it😊

Survivor4Ever profile image
Survivor4Ever in reply to upawall

You might try it I think it’ll help. Especially with anxiety. Right when the anxiety begins give it a shot. However, there are so many scents. I’m going to try the other ones snd let you guys know about the other ones
