Hello :-)

I live just of a main road which has traffic going up and down all day and night

I don't like noise either , people playing music to load , DIY, most noise to be honest but I have lived here years and now I don't even notice the traffic the only time I do is if it stops for some reason and that reason is if they do road works usually and then I can't cope with the sound of road works

I was suppose to be moving round about now though despite living here years but the covid has put it back till next year , they are new builds and covid has delayed everything and sometimes as this is a quite area we will be moving to I wonder if I will miss the traffic , strange I know :-)

Maybe choose a bedroom which is the furthest away from the road , ear plugs maybe ?

You could find yourself like me and get used to it you never know :-)

But if it is something you cannot put up with you do and will be able to move eventually so hold on to that thought to keep you going , tell yourself this is not forever , just temporary :-)

I hope you find somewhere more quite soon :-)

Take Care x

Hi I hate that early morning traffic,I need window open when hot as I am on menapause! it wakes me up early but so does my cat! Ishut the window and is bearable, have you tried ear muff type things look them up to block noise I'm sure there are things you can get now, I used to sleep in back of the house when I lived at my house going up for sale soon, now staying at mam's so I'm at the front it's not as busy I my end as was at the junktion so 3 roads and lorries from the docks, I used to listen to Paul mackenna cd until it broke really helped my anxiety, chamomile tea always sends me back to sleep i don't drink alcohol so have it on a night too, I'm sure there are sound proofs things you can put up windows, have you tried looking that kind of thing up I think moving is the best thing house sales are picking up now, even thick heavy curtains may help a little, I don't know what kind of property you live in but is there a downstairs away from the busy road, disturbed sleep is a big factor in anxiety you need somewhere quite you can go to meditate and so breathing techniques give your mind a break, swimming helped me if your not double glazed I remember my mam had simulated glazing these plastic sheets with s rim round you screw them on I have even pretended the noise was waves imagine your in a lovely home overlooking the sea sounds a bit silly but if you focus on it been a annoyance and cars you'll just get more wound hope sorry I can give you a deffinate solution x

I live in a avenue when first moved in very quiet there was a elderly people's home just doors away from my house, they used to walk past in the mornings, afternoons saying good morning/afternoon and complimenting my daffodils in the garden. The elderly people's home was in a state of disrepair they knocked it down and built quite a few nice looking social houses on the land, but many of the people that moved in are trampy foul mouthed skum who always need the police out, are screeching and shouting effing and blinding at eachother and create so much noise and have trashed their area bringing ours down with it too. Since those houses built traffic has increased but first few weeks of lockdown was golden silence before people started getting priority deliver and home foid/goods delivered even more than ever before so noise levels have gone worse than before covid. Vans, lorries down our narrow avenue with it's road now in huge decline with massive potholes, lorries almost as big as the houses that shouldn't be down here, rattling, banging, rumbling when empty and making my house shake due to appalling state of road when full. Have to have all my windows closed. Get a brief reprise about now then it all starts up again about 2pm until 11pm, then starts up again 4:30 - 5 am. There is always however traffic noise even worse than before covid now. Cannot wear earplugs as deaf in one ear and need to hear my alarm in the morning. Also even with earplugs in I can still hear traffic noise and feel it. I am not on a main road but off one and vehicles that shouldn't be down here cut through. Young children live down here and some drivers use it as a race track, also used by parents parking to pick up primary school kids from very nearby school which is fine they don't cause much disruption as only there for a short time, it is the speeding drivers down here who will one day hit a child being collected from school by going way way to fast for such a small narrow avenue road that's already because of massive vans and lorries in a horrendous state. It's sad, all this has happened in just 10 - 11 years. It was so lovely and quiet when we moved in. I have double glazing and unfortunately rent the property we live in and cannot afford to move out elsewhere due to not working through health issues and agency fees and deposits. I don't have that kind of money available. Every penny is accounted for. If I dare to use what I have managed to save for a little holiday that will then put my bank balance to almost zero and I wouldn't be able to pay all my bills if they came in at once. So I am trapped here and this house has horrendous damp and black mold which in 2018 contributed towards me having a massive asthma attack and being put into an induced coma not expected to survive. I had to relearn to walk and other things, and return to this damp and black mold filled house. I have mold spores permenantly in my lungs and damage to my lungs because of them. There is no way out otherthan death for me. My parents are my landlords, they don't care about me or my health.
