Yesterday started with complete appetite loss and and panic attacks in the morning followed by anxiety attack the rest of the day. I managed to have a few crackers and sips of juice. I know it’s not good and it worries me. Today is the same thing. When I get a chance to calm down I panic even thinking about eating. I’ve been chewing on hard candy. Is this normal? Please help

I also want to add that I don’t have an eating disorder. I’ve had days we’re I can eat without much of an appetite but it’s so hard today. I don’t feel well.

I also forgot to mention that I had an appetite Sunday before the attacks on Monday and today.

You are not alone! When I am in a major depressive / anxious state I do not have much of an appetite either. I have not really eaten anything today...yesterday was little better with some applesauce and a protein bar. Today has mostly just been a breakfast cracker. Trying to eat when I fell like this is just awful.... But hang in there, I know how you feel and you are not alone.

I suffered from severe panic attacks in my 30's, even to the point I thought I was having a stroke once. I learned how it's just the brain chemicals going berserk - so for me, I would just remind myself just that and do slow deep breathing and pray through them. Eventually they completely stopped - I still have anxiety and depression, mostly well treated until crazy circumstances (like what I'm going through right now) makes their ugly heads rare up. Anxiety/depression will either make you have no appetite or want to eat everything in sight! Be gentle on yourself!!! You are a loveable human, see yourself as such. Look at yourself in the mirror and remind yourself that you are worthy of being happy and well! Eat small amounts of healthy foods, your body deserves to be treated with love.

I've had this may times before and the best thing I have found for it is to carry around little snacks so you can eat as soon as you feel you can and just try to get a few baby meals, my go to is cereal because it doesn't feel too overwhelming. I hope it starts to feel a little better soon!

it is totally normal not to have an appetite if you are depressed. And ik where you've been, i haven't had an appetite for a while, and I understand not wanting to eat or being worried about eating. do you think instead of apple juice you could try protein shakes or ensure? They help to give you your nutrients you need, and energy. They also don't taste bad. Although I do NOT recommend the strawberry flavor 😂 and how is the food affecting your panic attacks? what about food stresses you?
