I had an old racer a few of us cycled miles into the countryside when youngsters I had swapped bikes for the journey so was on a BMX bike the guy on my bike snapped the chain and took his back.we tried using shoe laces as a tow but it kept on breaking so I ended up walking miles home with my bike and snapped chain and my friends just left...
I have a bike that is blue and teal. 30 speed. Not really a road bike but a hybrid. I live in the Czech Republic which is very bike friendly. I ride the bike rather than drive a car. It is great!
As soon as you said "bike story" I thought of my worst bike story. I was riding with a friend and we went further than allowed. We stopped at a fruit tree to pick some fruit. I layed my bike down and stood on it. My foot got stuck in the spokes, I fell and when I got up, I tore my leg open. Bone was showing, blood was making me ill and we had about 2 miles to ride to her house. 80 stitches later! I still have the scar! If you meant a motorcycle (bike), my boyfriend and I were almost run off the freeway but thankfully he was ready for it! Made me think twice about getting on it again!
LOL.. Yeah, I"m glad I made it too! Boy did I catch hell AFTER the worrying was over!! Did I learn my lesson? Ah, NO.. LOL
I had a red Schwinn. The handle grips had slid further up the handle bars so the metal at the end was exposed. One day I was riding my bike in a dirt hill, that in all fairness I was told to stay off of, and as I was riding I saw deer tracks. I was more tomboyish growing up so I wanted to follow them. Well I hit a groove in the hill left by a huge tractor tire. When that happened I blacked out for a second only to when I regained my sight completely, and shook my head I saw blood dripping. So I panicked and was screaming, then composed myself enough to hold pressure to my face as I rode the old Schwinn home. When I got there my dad freaked out, my mom about passed out, then off to the hospital we went. 22 stiches later, and I was good to go. It about killed me lol it was like a half of centimeter away from my jugular. So yeah I had many bikes, but that was the most memorable one.
.......Just woke up, it's 3 AM EDT here in SW Florida, and getting ready to leave my house for 50 miles of smiles riding my newest bike, a 2018 Specialized Roubaix Expert that my wife gave me for my 67th Birthday 3 years ago. For my 70th Birthday on the 10th of July I bicycled 141 miles.
Really awesome question... I think it universally brings up positive feelings from everyone’s childhood. I remember the thrill and nervousness of trying it the first time. I remember falling and splitting open my lip. I remember the sense of freedom and adventure. I remember it getting stolen and it being a big deal at the time ..
The whole positive feelings from childhood was what I was shooting for haha!!
Should’ve known with a network of depressives lolol🤪🤪🤣😂
Freedom and adventure is something that is robbed from this illness of the mind.
There once was a time where life was more simple...curious.....happy.
Thank you for your kind words 🙏
I have a 7 speed beach cruiser. White with pink bling. Love going to the beach ridding. Time stands still when I do this. Love ridding my bike... ♥♥ Great post... Thank you for the smile.

Thank you for kind words hope you have the best day you can!!!❤️
Whenever I’m riding, I think this has to be one of the greatest human inventions ever! Mine is old, a Trek 21 speed road bike from the 80s when I lived out West. It’s laid up now, waiting for me to find my thin wrench and put the rear brake back together. Some of you had some horrible crashes when you were kids. I think we all did stupid stuff. I remember the day I bought my first helmet. Riding the Trek, there was a ridge west of town, on the far side a nice straight downhill with level ground at the bottom. Came down it many times—fast, like 50+ mph. One day as I was coasting and slowing down on the level stretch, I got this uncontrollable case of the shakes, as I realized that all I would have to do is hit the pull tab off a beer can and I would die. I rode v e r y s l o w l y back to town, to the shop where I bought it, and came out with a white Bell helmet with orange stripes. Felt like a dork—but never ride without a helmet since, and now everybody does thank God. Never had a bad crash as an adult but I know of too many who have. I was kind of a bike activist when I was a teenager, on a city council committee. Bike = Freedom, and all honest CO2 also. I need to get it fixed now!
I bought my sons bmx bikes and they’ve been loving it lately.
Bike =freedom,
And for many of us a time when things weren’t so hard
I remember I was about 10 years old we got a bike for Christmas... that night after opening our gift, our dad put them in our shed to ride the next morning. Well unfortunately someone broke into it and stole all three of our bikes, mine and my two baby sisters.. 😏
I now currently own a bright yellow old school style of bike. Love it. Has a cute basket.

Apparently someone felt they really needed those things for free!!
What an awful feeling looking in that shed and nothing but cobwebs and despair!
Back in my early teenage years I really started get interseted in biking. By the time I was 16 I started riding 30 miles a week. I also found out that bike riding was helping mebecome more with my epilepsy. By the time I graduated high school and went to college I was riding between 50-100 miles a week. After I graduated college, I became more serious in my riding bike. I wanted to participate in the Olympic Biking Team, however that did not work out. Now I was riding 200 - 300 miles a week. I decided I was going to take a bike trip. So, I took a 3 week, 1,000 mile bike trip from MIssoula, MT. - Jasper, Alberta, Canada. It was one of my best decisions I had ever made! Loved it!
The bike I have now I bought because it's purple. My favorite color!! It's a bit big for me and I can't get the seat to go down far enough but I HAD to have a purple bike. I have neighbors leaving things that are purple on my porch all the time!! My son painted my Mobile 3 different shades of purple. Sorry, I got off the subject! LOL
