Exercise Buddy

Exercise has been proven to be as effective as medication for anxiety and depression. I personally found it to help along with medication. Even a little exercise helps, like 10-15 minutes of walking. However when raining and during the winter walking may not be an option. So, I bought an exercise bike. I can set the time of exercise and worked up to doing a half hour of cycling with resistance for a good workout. The exercise bike is my workout buddy lol. It’s there to keep me motivated.

If a stationary bike is an option for you it’s definitely worth it. It helps keep me at a minimum dosage of sertraline, so no side effects from it. Also it helps improve your mood and energy levels.

Hoping one of your next purchases will include a bike, and enjoy the journey.

Thanks for the reminder.... I usually try to walk 20 to 30 minutes on a gravel road (my street !) or mow about 45 minutes four to five times a week. I slacked off this past couple weeks. There is an exercise bike in my living room. I need to motivate myself to use it ! 🙂

You must have a big garden?

Average size living room. It is just me living here, so I do not care about the bike being there. 😊

Well…but what do you mow for 45 mins 4 to 5 times a week?

I break mowing down to 30 to 45 minutes at a time to cover all the mowing on my property. To cover all the areas I mow does take about 4 times . I meant that I count the mowing as exercise when I do mow, and try to exercise 4 to 5 times a week total to include mowing. Hopefully I explained that more clearly. 😊

Well, I don’t think your explanation was unclear; I’m just used to fairly small gardens, I guess. :)

I’d love a treadmill but have nowhere to put it except in a dark basement. Not very motivating to go down there.

They have folding treadmills that can fit under a bed, which may help.

My bedroom is so small and we have a king size bed. There is no way I could get a treadmill under there lol

Thanks for the tip! I bought an exercise bike on Amazon but I rarely use it. There's a small fitness center in my apartment complex, and I like to use the treadmill. Although being outside is preferable.

Thank you 😊 I walk my dogs no matter the weather. They enjoy it.

I put my road bike on a trainer. It works well for me. I also have a treadmill in my home. I use both of these when it rains, or is too hot to go outside.
