I can’t seem to let go of this resent and built up anger I have towards someone. This person has turned into an emotionally abusive individual and after the things they’ve put me through, I can’t take anymore of it. They’re not in my life anymore and haven’t been for some time but every day I find myself more infuriated and I’ll willed towards them.
Sometimes I wish I could hurt them back just as much, if not more, than they hurt me...But I know that I wouldn’t do it because I’m not that type of person. Can anyone relate? What should I do???

You don't need to do anything, Karma will do it for you. And while you hold onto all that anger and resentment, it's not bothering the other person at all but it's certainly destroying you! Leave the past in the past and don't let that person take up anymore space in your mind. When my ex husband sexually abused my granddaughter, I wanted him to pay. Unfortunately he left the state. BUT, Karma does come around. He lost everything he had. Start a new life and get rid of the old. That person is not worth your time.
I am experiencing the same situation and though it's been 3 years I am still there. I'm going to direct message you right now.
Oh man, can I ever relate to this! Almost every single word too.
Firstly, let me say how very sorry I am for what you're feeling. It is extremely uncomfortable, isn't it?
Words of advice that I was given:
-if you give into your want for revenge, you are becoming the person you don't want to be.
-there is nothing you can do about it, so let it go. You will drive yourself crazy thinking about how to get your revenge.
-this person isn't worth your time and energy. Life is too short to have it wasted on those who are toxic.
And if you're religious, here's some advice from that angle:
-God will take care of them. He knows what's in the hearts and minds of everyone.
