Since the start of the pandemic, I have had severe anxiety, as my anxiety is generally triggered by health related things, so this is a perfect storm. I was already just starting to get a little eczema on my forearms at the elbows from a medication change earlier in the year (had never had it before) but since the pandemic, I now have major anxiety and eczema covering my legs. My hair also was falling out for a while due to the extreme stress and anxiety. I wondered if anyone else dealt with this or what seems like a chronic eczema flare up due to anxiety and being overwhelmed by everything in the news.

Hello
I don't suffer with the same health problems as you but I do suffer with digestive problems and migraines and this virus has sent my Health Anxiety through the roof and with it I am having more and worse digestive problems as well as migraines which then makes me even more anxious and like a vicious circle going round & round
My Health anxiety of course want's to tell me something really bad is happening but I think as much as that is trying to win I know that severe stress and anxiety can and does make ongoing health issues worse
I hope we can manage to calm down and find that we will feel physically better
Thank you for your response Lulu. I also get migraines, but I didn't attribute them to anxiety - moreso I've had them on and off for years. Is it ok if I sent you a PM?
Yes, I’m having a large amount of anxiety as well, more than usual. My hair has not been falling out however, but I do find myself pulling strands. I find that breathing exercises help me as well as yoga. I hope things start to get better for you and everybody else!
It causes a lot of anxiety and stress for me. I have migraines and can’t sleep. My hair falling out seems to be related to hypothyroidism.
In the last 6 months my skin has broken out all over. My back, and my legs from ankle to hip. I went to the dr and he said it was “folliculitis” and that it is a bacteria staph infection. He gave me 4x meds and it’s been a month and looking towards relief.
Stress can cause almost any physical symptom. I’m hoping for improvement soon. And hoping my OCD spouse improves too- and stops creating so much anxiety inside me.
Wow - interesting to know that. I am going to make an appt. with a dermatologist this week (if I can get a telehealth) appt. to see what they think. The itching is unbearable and I have never had any of this before this year.
Sorry to hear you're in such a place in your life now. I too had eczema during some really bad anxiety periods in the past. It mostly cleared up after I moved out of the town I was living in at the time. Maybe something climate-related or whatnot.
Anyway, it cleared up and hasn't returned yet - even though I'm definitely not anxiety-free. So there's a chance it's a one-time thing in your case too, don't overthink it!
Yes I also have chronic Eczema, normally only on palms of hands! Along time ago I had so bad it was on arms & neck, yes severe stress at time but led me to much research & found amazing help w Evening Primrose Oil!!! The first night I opened capsule to use topically & was almost a miracle, plus took couple capsules too! I've been on it about 12 yrs or so & even recommended to several people who had great luck w EPO!! Sometimes when having severe stress & emotionaly distraught I have some breakthroughs, so I just up the amount! Nothing else has worked that well & can be found not only in vitamin shops, but even @ Target or Walmart. Just make sure it's at least 1,000--1,500 mgs & I take more than recommended amount also! Anyway good luck to you if you try it✌
