Sertraline Brain Fog

Hi, am on Week 4 of 100mg Sertraline. Suffering from my quite extreme brain fog and short-term memory problems. Any experience of how long this lasts as a side-effect? Do people eventually level and their brain function snaps back into place?

Hi,

The first thing to say is that our bodies do not behave in the same way when taking meds on board. In general, at the 3-4 week your symptoms and the side effects should be on the way to settling down.

If this not working out for you, report this to your doctor. Talk through the pros and cons of staying on them or changing over to something else.

I had a similar issue when just started on Sertraline. Brain fog had improved gradually over a couple of months, it did not just snap back overnight. Short term memory problems lasted a while longer, I don't quite remember. :)
