When my mind is all over the place and I need to slow it down, I turn to my fish tanks. I tend to run very low on patience except for when doing these. I can spend hours pruning, cleaning and scaping a tank until, in my eyes, it’s perfect. According to my therapist, it’s all to do with control and protection. I control and protect every aspect of my tank and fish. From when they eat, if they eat, what they eat. The water parameters, the lighting and the landscape. Who they socialise with and who it’s safe for them to be around. This apparently is my way of making up for the past. When I had no control and no say in anything to do with my life. When I couldn’t protect those closest to me. It’s a whole world that I can protect, care for and nurture.

Patience
When we had a fish tank with tropical fish I would sit for ages just watching them, I found it very calming. They take a lot of care and I have not even thought of getting fish for years.
They do take a lot of care but I love doing it so much. I can lose time just watching them interact. The shrimp especially.
Sadly, as incredible as that sounds, I haven’t the foggiest
Hi, as far as patience I heard a therapist speaking at a church I went to, he was such a lovely man. One thing that hit home with me was when he said "God gave you all the patience you need on the day you were born,,,,,so Use It". It is true, when I am running low I dig down inside and pull up more.....It gives me peace!!! Lovely fish tank, keep up the good work, and search out your patience. Sending love n hugs.......
