I am writing this to ask anyone who may have the same experience as me, what I should do! I was diagnosed with panic disorder this past summer and I started taking an SSRI which has relieved my panic attacks, but now I experience extreme depersonilzation. Almost all the time. I want to start feeling better! Im going to a new therapist June 1st, but I have read some things about Klonopin and Quetiapine being very helpful for those who deal with depersonilzation. I was wondering if any of you have experience with either of these anti psychotic drugs and how they helped or did not help and if there were any horrible or unsettling side effects. Let me know!!! Thanks

I’d be very careful with benzodiazepines like Klonopin. They are really only meant to be taken for short periods of time, 2 to 4 weeks, or you can become physically dependent. I had a horrible experience with Ativan and Xanax Years ago; the withdrawal from these was 100x worse than the anxiety it was prescribed for.
Just a caution; everyone is different. Just don’t want to see anyone suffer what I went through.
Id reccomend benzos or natural techniques and supplements, ssris messed me up and i had to get off them. Ive been on ativan for awhile and im doing fine.
I use Klonopin for sleep and anxiety. No bad side effects except for it makes me thirsty. If I take it too late at night I'm a little groggy the next day.
