I have anxiety, should I take medecine? What are the pros and cons? My anxiety isn't to the point of panic attacks but I haven't been going to school.

I didn't know I might have an opportunity to return a favor so soon. Thank you again.

You are young and I am not, but am very cautious regarding meds. Badgers reply is a good one and his question is also. Is there something different happening in your life that might be influencing how you are feeling? Think hard, may not be obvious.

Ok, the other thing that sometimes provides answers is a thorough complete physical, with blood work and all that jazz. I know, nobody wants to have one, or may not know how to get one. Just ask this forum.

Medication may be down the list of suggestions, but way down on my list for you.

At your age there are so many things happening all at once physically, hormonally, mentally, socially, educationally, family, romantically?. :)

...After ruling out any changes in your life, Start at the least addictive and maybe the most informative, by having a physically to find out and rule out if anything is causing you to feel this way. (Already mentioned that, I'm a broken record sometimes)

Counseling might be a good next step.

Since you don't know why you are feeling this way, meds would probably be a "real way down the road."

Well, I rambled a bit, hope some of it was of use to you, but I won't mention Washington, :) and on that note I'll say bye for now.

If it is disrupting your life and taking away from your education you have to get help. I was put on medicine. I don’t think I knew the benefits of therapy though. I always suggest trying a more natural way with a therapist, exercise, diet etc first. I do not however judge anyone. If you can’t do this naturally the most important thing is getting help. If you get medicine it is used as a bandaid to keep you going while a therapist helps you get to the root of the problem, develop coping skills, relaxation techniques and develop coping skills. So you have to do something so you can get back on track and stay in school. I hope you find the help you need.

Ms. Tink, you offered some very reasonable and truthful support, and hope he found some solace and encouragement from it.

Good afternoon ASSClub,

It's been nearly a day since you posted. Wondering how are you feeling this today. Hope you made it to school. Know you are probably feeling about the same, but hoping you were able to shower, dress and shave and make it to even one class. Yes, you are a bit stuck with me. I don't like to offer support to someone as special as you and then don't follow up. No matter what you accomplished or not, keep in touch with me or anyone on the forum.

(See, it's a new day and no Wahington. Maybe Hamilton next.) :)

No I didn't make it to school. They are thinking of bringing the work to my house instead untill I get better. Will try to keep myself busy even though I don't have any thing to look forward to.

It is so important that you continue your education. It may not be fun now but life without it will be worse. So whatever you can do to keep on track.

Have you been to the doctor or a therapist? Even school counselors or teachers can help a lot.

It sounds like this has come out of the blue. I feel like something may have happened to you for you to just quit going to school and this bad anxiety to set in. I’m worried about you. Have you discussed your situation with an adult? Have you considered why this is happening and ways you can change things to learn to cope? I really hope you are getting help. We are here for you. You can also pm if you need an ear. It typically doesn’t just happen for no reason. Sometimes it’s hard getting to the root of it. Sometimes not but maybe hard to talk about. This is anonymous and we have all been through crazy things. You will not receive judgement here. You will receive a caring understanding peer that will support you. It’s hard to advice not knowing but you need to talk to someone. Now is the time to get a handle on things while you are young so it doesn’t affect your future and goals in life. Do you have goals? In a perfect world what do you dream your life will be like? Let that be your driving force. If you ever need to talk privately I’m here too. PM me. I care. I’m a mom and grandma of boys. I’m also a peer. My experience or the experience of others can help you. Hear You is also very sweet and has a lot of wisdom to give. Do whatever you can to get your education. Get some help coping as well. We’re hear for you love.

Oh my goodness. I haven't been well the last day or so and just saw your reply. My, my,my. Have you showered, shaved? You have a lot of people sending you support. The bullies are school seem to be the big issue.

Exactly, and I mean EXACTLY WHAT are the bullies doing to you. I can't fire a pea shooter if I don't know the exact target. Has anyone come to you with your school work?

People at school laugh at me and say bad things about me. I feel like it's not only social anxiety but I don't know. Even since 6th grade I worried about lights for some Reason, like loosing your eye sight. Then it after I solved that other things would come up and now it's this. I play soccer at a pretty high level and I want to go to college and play soccer but even at soccer I feel self conscious.

I’m sorry your having a hard time. People can be cruel. You should be proud if you play soccer at such a high level. Are these kids bullying you? If so that is wrong and your School can surely help you in some way

Yes they are bullying but it's stupid because they do it behind my back even though I know. Sometimes I wish they would just come and say it to my face. The school is also stupid and they don't want to confront the bullies.
