Best medicine for anxiety/depression

I need some advice from anyone who can help. I'm taking sertraline which has affected my sex drive and I have ED. While going to the gym on this medication I don't get extremely sore muscles.

Before taking sertraline I was taking citalopram, citalopram didn't affect my sex drive as much and also didn't affect me having ED. When going to the gym I was getting extremely sore muscles.

Anyone know any other meds I can potentially use that they have had a better experience with? Or even something I could take along side the meds to help with my side effects.

Hi Adeelkhalid17 and Welcome..

Many people have complained about the side effects of SSRI's

however only your doctor can decide what is best for your general

physical and emotional well being. Medication has always been a

trial and error process. :) xx

Thanks, I was hoping someone who may have had experiences with other meds might be able to give some advice.

Of course I understand..At least it can give you something to

discuss with your physician :) xx

I can’t give advice as I am also on sertraline and have ZERO sex drive. In my case I don’t know if it’s the meds or that I have no love for my bf which makes me not sexually attracted to him.

Yeah it affects your sex drive really bad. Try citalopram that wasn't as bad for my sex drive.

I am currently on escitalopram. It does not seem to be affecting my sex drive nearly as much as others. In the past, the most effective med I was ever on which also did not impact my sex drive was paroxetine, BUT it is hands-down the worst med to get off of. It really is trial and error, and you need to give your med a few months to take full effect. And sometimes side effects get better - or worse - with time. Unfortunately, it's not a one-size its all deal. :-(
