Having to live in a new state with no friends, no one to talk to and a husband who try’s to convince me that it will get better as he goes out and socializes at least twice a week, makes me feel so isolated. I try to keep myself busy with kids and activities, but it’s not getting any better. No friends and no deep connections. Not doing much beyond taking care of kids and being a good wife has left me wondering if I have lost myself in my endless efforts to keep others happy. Even self care is hard for me. Has anyone gone thru this?

Did you mean your husband started going out twice a week to socialize b4 the virus started getting so bad and everything soo many places started shutting down?? Are you not able to when things start goin back to normal go with him so you can share in the socializing maybe feel more connected??

Or can you ask him to do maybe do FaceTime chats together with friends & include you more?? I mean hav you been able to talk to him about this about how you’re feeling and maybe get support from him??

in reply tohurtingheart1

Yes. I have talked to him about it and he’s trying to be supportive. He’s able to go out and socialize because he has people to socialize with. I don’t have a group/person to go out with yet. We are trying to find more time for ourselves, but it’s not as easy. So if I go out and socialize its usually going out by myself to read or walk. Kinda feels awkward at times, but I guess it’s a form of me time. This is all before the virus pandemic.

☺️How are you doing? Are things feeling any better for you?🌻

in reply tohurtingheart1

Doing a bit better. Thanks for asking. I’m having better days. Once in a while, I start feeling anxious and depressed. Exercising or going outside to get some fresh air is helping.
