Yes. You should phone your doctor's practice when your repeats are due or your pharmacist if you usually order through him/her.

They will send your prescription to the pharmacy of your choice. Then you collect it from there or ask them to deliver.

As far as I'm aware GP practices are open to receive phone calls. Then a decision is taken re if a patient needs to be seen.

Routine matters such as prescription repeats will be dealt with, but only when usually due.

My doctors is closed according to the website. And that is all done on the website anyway.

That's strange. Have you tried phoning? Have you phoned your pharmacist?

When are your repeats due?

GP Practices are "closed" to walk ins. No patient is allowed in without prior arrangement with GP.

Triage is initially by telephone.

That is interesting Mary. My repeats are not due for another week or. When I put in for other repeats a few weeks ago they took ages, and the chemist threw the stuff in the porch and went off without informing me or asking me to sign the proof of delivery. OBVIOUSLY because he is scared to get contaminated. Don't blame him. All of mine is done on website and has been for years.

I think I'd phone the pharmacy now and ask what the situation is. Ask for your repeat to be ordered and for a phone call when it's going to be delivered.

Not sure what you mean by a week - will you

a) run out in a week

b) be due to re-order im a week as you are down to your last 7 days of supplies.

I dont need to phone them at all, nor hurry it up. The website tells me the next date I can order it every four weeks or whenever, and my next one is due to be put through in about a week. I was just wondering if they will do it slowly or whatever then. I know they are very very busy so I am not going to block their line and ask them to waste time talking to me about it on the phone. They have more important calls to take. Am sure that like some have said all surgeries are different but if various people answer the question you get a good idea.

Thought you said the website was no help. GP closed - and that's that.

This is the impression you gave.

No. I said the gp is closed. This means that if I go onto the website and look for where you can book an appointment that bit is closed. I did not say the rest of the website does not work. And as I am housebound a nurse or doctor comes to me anyway, I dont go there.

Yes. They are sending prescriptions to the pharmacist.

In an attempt to protect GPs & practice nurses & staff, contact is being limited as far as possible.

That makes sense and thank you. We all have different worries and fears and things to put up with at this time. Hope you are coping well.
