We take a lot for granted. A beer or two with kindred folk. A walk through open woodland that raises the spirits. The sound of waves crashing on the shoreline.
Then suddenly the scene changes. It's Lockdown and Stay Home. How we miss that which we never fully appreciated before.
Spring will be a little late this year. Maybe late May. Or even June or July. A long time for free spirits to endure the confinement of the four walls.
But the pestilence won't last forever. When that happy day comes great will be the rejoicing. The return of the barbecue with friends. Countryside picnics with family. A day spent shrimping on the beach. Food far better than we can cook enjoyed al fresco once again.
For me it will be a leisurely drive down to the coast when the tide is out to walk the flat sands all the way from East Wittering to East Head with the sun on my back and a gentle breeze in my face.
Maybe this is what it takes for us to treat our stewardship of the planet more seriously. To lose its sweetest pleasures for a short while. Every adversity brings with it the seed of a greater benefit.

Very poetic Jeff and so true. We’ll all be looking forward to the pleasures in life and communing with Mother Nature once again. 👍🏻👍🏻 Thanks for the lovely post. 👏🏻. Keep safe.
Very nice thoughts Jeff, and it's no wonder... we all long for freedom to enjoy life as it was meant to be. The beginning or origin of such life on earth is described in the bible. What's encouraging to me is that the Author of the inspired book also reveals what the future holds. Since it foretold the very things this generation has seen fulfilled is reason to expect more than any human can predict. As a student of the bible for over 60 years, I'm still amazed to witness the detailed accuracy. Perhaps many will disagree...but if anyone wants to know the Good News, please examine the world's most comprehensive website you will find, that is jw.org...in over 1,000 languages ...Navigate to any question you may have for accurate and satisfying answers. Hope you will. I want to leave with a timely scripture. Jeremiah 29: 11 which gives hope from a reliable source. Really the only one who can provide what we need.
Thank you for your kind words, can I just say that it is against the rules of this forum to 'sell' religion, one can mention that religion was a great help with your own anxiety disorder and part of your recovery but selling religion leads always to arguments here so it is a good rule.
I am a believer myself but I believe the Bible has been rewritten, changed, added to, subtracted from, jingled and jangled to serve the agendas of princes and prelates down the ages that one has to work hard to decide what is original and what is the work of later spin doctors.
For example, someone who had a near death experience recently and met Jesus in the realm of spirit was told: "You have your Bible but it is not completely correct, and it is not complete, but it is what you have and you must make what you can of it." I agree with that statement.
Other NDE's report that God does not judge us, we judge ourselves. Time is not linear in the afterlife so you can review your whole life in literally no time at all and you are then asked 2 questions: 'Well, how do you think you did?' and 'What is the most important thing of all?' Depending on your answers you may have to return here to learn the lesson we failed to learn the first time as part of our evolution to higher forms and the progression of all souls.
There is no conflict between the Bible and Darwin's Theory of Evolution: God is the guiding force behind evolution which could not have happened just by chance and coincidence. But 3000 years ago people would not have understood Evolutionary theory so the Bible contains a symbolic version that ancient minds could understand.
The Bible does not contain valid prophesy because we are all given free will: some will use it for good and some for bad, so the consequences cannot be forseen.
I have no time for organised religions who have committed more cruelties on their their flock such as taking from the poor to enrich Churches (tithes) and the sexual abuse of children (paedophilia). God may see it otherwise as he said to Mohammed in his messages "I could have made you all of one church but I did not because I want you to race against each other."
I am not trying to persuade you or anybody else to change your beliefs, and doubt if anybody will.
