I’m going to be starting group therapy soon for the first time and I’m feeling very anxious about it. I’m naturally shy and don’t like talking in front of others who I don’t know .
Has anyone done and had good results with group therapy?
Any advice before I start would be greatly appreciated

In the first couple of times, i didnt really participate so much, just listening to what others had to say. Then little by little i started to join in. It was the first place where i could cry in front of others, and feeling okay with it.
Just go your own pace, and work with it step by step
You lucky ducky, I have done it before and want to do it again, but I'm having trouble finding therapists that take Medicare. It is a little bit daunting walking into a group which has already formed, but they always glad to see a fresh face, and hear a fresh point of view.
Yes...lots....and it's okay to just listen... and when and if you feel like talking...then that's okay too.
Best of luck to you on that. I went once but they asked me to leave as I was questioning the group and basically telling the doc he had nothing to offer any of us. Lots of talk, lots of meds, and they'll send you right back home. Well or not, the bill has been paid.
