hi its not all of us who can go out in big groups of people its good to socialise within a small group in the beginning to give you a bit of confidence.some charities have groups that do activities with folk like yourself as well.

Hello Risingstar,. I used to have social phobia, which turned into agorophobia. I recovered from them both. What someone with these illnesses needs is cognitive behavioral therapy which depending on your health insurance, it may not cover this therapy? I had no choice but to go it alone. Is there anything "specific" that you want or need to know about SAD ?

Start small, as the saying goes, take baby steps. can you go to therapy that will teach you coping skills? One way I dealt with it was by knowing there were other people there that felt the same way. Do not concentrate on yourself too much, look at others and seek someone out who looks friendly and start a chat, if that does not work, move on to someone else. Keep going to the same place where you will be recognized and accepted, it will gel, just give it time. From a once upon a time wallflower....Sprinkle 1....sending confidence, energy, belief in self, joy and happiness along with Love & Hugs......xxx ooo
