Does anyone know if you add a additional antidepressant, like abilify or something how long would it take to start feeling better? Would it be a full month if you currently already on a antidepressant?

Adding a second antidepressant
Omg YES!! I added Abilify because my friend recommended it and it changed my life. I wish I added it sooner. I noticed after a few days! I was more upbeat, motivated and happy. I have been on it for about 5 months and I swear to god I have not cried or even felt down. I have some anxiety but even that feels more managed. I swear by Abilify. It’s the best!!! PM me anytime if you wanna talk more about it. And if you do take it keep me posted. Good luck!! 💜
Thank you sooo much. I appreciate it. It's great to know that has helped you. It's also giving me hope.
Thats Great when something works! Please note that or Google Abilify , it is not actually N antidepressant. It may be prescribed off label because it can often improve mood. It chemically is an anti-pychotic , used in bipolar and possibly mood stabilization. Its mechanism of action is very different than the antidepressants. I'm just saying. I'm glad there are meds and that they help us. At the end of the day doesn't really matter and trust your doctor or get one you can trust. Bless you & stay well.

That usually depends on your metabolism and your other meds. Normally it’s from a different category so it will hit other receptors in the brain so yes, approximately a month for full effect. Again, everyone is different.
I'm on two different antidepressants, but the second one is Trazodone used for a sleep aid. There wasn't any effect on my depression when I started that drug. One thing that I did notice making a difference for me is taking vitamin D supplements. 100 mcg is what I typically take, except I double that in the fall/winter when the days are even shorter.
I hope you find something that helps!
Thanks so much!!
It all depends on the condition you have.
I take two AD drugs one for general nerve damage the other for my Mental Health.
Generally for Depression or other mental illnesses your Doctor may prescribe two different drugs to help you

You take an antidepressant for nerve damage ?
Yes Lilipad
Several of ad drugs can suppress nerve damage pain, it is not a big dose a great deal lower than a dose for Depression. However this year they are playing about with my medications and I have B12 Injections every twelve weeks, my Body cannot produce B12 so I have been short now for over thirty years, Everything seems to be in control at the moment so they are reducing my pain medications and various associated medications, they are hoping for a complete recovery from pins and needles and cramps etc. They have started me on D3 medication as well, twice a day. We will see how things go. My weight should also reduce now given time

I'm another Abilify fan. It worked wonders for me. I don't know, of course, how it would do for you. But I'm very happy with it.
Yes you can add abilify to an antidepressant. Takes approximately 2 weeks to get the full effect. I take Lexapro and he was going to add abilify to it. In the end I didn't need it, but I needed a really high dose of Lexapro to pull me out of serious depression.
Abilify helps to not have a psychotic episode, but a drug called Mirtazapine, has helped my depression to be less and it helps me to sleep more soundly. Hope that is helpful.
Great question Its the question I've been asking Google.
I'm sorry I haven't found answer.
I been on Effexor couple of years.
Due to many recent losses, changes and issues as well as tapering off a benzo- my anxiety/depression came back.
Teledoc added Trazadone.
I been on it 4 days tonight makes 5. Really helps me sleep better. My best Google said 1 to 2 weeks for effect but maybe 4 weeks. I'm thinking help is OTW.
I would love a more concrete answer to the double med taking?
Thank you and thank you for taking the time to read this.
