Updates on dose change *Lexapro *Brintellix

Hi all! I previously wrote a post on starting to feel a resurgence of my depressive symptoms (despair, loss of hope and interest in doing pretty much anything) after having been on 10mg of Lexapro for almost 4 years.

I decided to up my dose to 15mg around 3 weeks ago. So far, so good. I was a bit concerned I would feel more tired than I already do, as that seems to be how Lexapro affects me. But the tiredness has been around the same. The loss of interest/despair has definitely gone, so I’m glad.

I do intend to add 5mg of Vortioxetine (Brintellix) to my routine soon — probably once I’ve been on the 15mg of Lexapro for a full month. I have taken it for a very short period of time once: it gave an incredible boost of energy, but resulted in heightened anxiety and panic attacks as well.

I suspect it might have been due to me prematurely cutting my Lexapro to 5mg (so it was 5mg Lex and 5mg Brin). Now I’m hoping that since I’m on a higher dose of Lex, it would counter the increased anxiety enough and still provide with that energy boost. I’ve heard a lot of good things about Brintellix, so I’m really hoping this combination would work out for me. While the tiredness from Lex isn’t extremely overwhelming, it does affect me a fair bit and I tend to sleep too much.
