I am currently doing some therapy trying to work through a major depressive episode while 7 months pregnant.I feel as if I dont have a large support system and seeing my therapist every day is not possible. While doing this, he has also diagnosed me with PTSD. I feel as if it is just so much dumped on me while I'm already having a hard time. Every day has been a struggle and I feel like I'm just slipping further into this pit. I am currently on buspar and cymbalta, but being on the cymbalta makes me scared for my babies health. I do not have a partner to rely on as he doesnt want to be in our lives. I was wondering if anyone else has gone through this, or is currently going through this and if you could offer me any help or advice?

Hi sbear, your baby’s major organs are already developed, and being a depressed mom isn’t healthy for your baby either, so go ahead and take your meds without needing to worry. You are doing the best you can, and that is a LOT. Sending love and prayers your way! ♥️

Thank you. My biggest concern for him is being stillborn. I feel as if I'm running in circles trying to care about my health but in turn possibly effecting his. I feel as if he is my lifeline and the only thing keeping me afloat and the fear of losing him is a lot for me to take in.

I was super grateful when my sons father finally left. No one to cook for clean up or get yelled at from. The police told me that some people shouldn’t be together. He used all my money for drugs and we had no food and if I said anything about it the neighbor would call the police. They were tired of sending me to the hospital so they gave me a check for $1000 and helped me see a social worker. Told me about the women’s shelters and to see a counselor.

I do remember being pregnant it was like the happiest time of my life. I was sick every day had to eat a especially special diet take vitamins eat fresh fruit and drink boiled water. I stopped all medications immediately when I discoverd I was pregnant. Look don’t worry it won’t help just eat what you want keep your feet up do your best. Your so lucky to be pregnant not everyone gets that blessing. I’ll pray for you

Hi. I just wanted to encourage you. You do have a lot on your plate, but from what you have described, I see that you are doing everything you can for you and your baby. A baby and depression can be hard, but take things one day at a time. What do you need to do next? Take that step. It helps me to stay in the moment and to enjoy what I can, deal with what I can do, and try not to worry about the next week, month, or year. (I tend to want to have everything always planned out.) Can you talk about your concerns about the medications with your doctor? He/she may be able to give you more information that will help you feel more comfortable in the decisions you are making. Talking always helps me, too. So maybe you can come here and talk out what you are going through. It is so much better than trying to handle everything alone. Hugs.
