exhausted constantly

Ever since i started working I'm now constantly exhausted. Not sure if its the depression kicking in or that my body is not use to working again after 2 years of not working. Last night I ended up sleeping 13 hours. I wake up still tired and want to go back to bed. Wednesday night I slept 12 1/2 hours that night and took a nap during the day for 2 hours.

Have you been to your doctor. There are a number of things that could cause those symptoms. What type of work are you doing, if it’s very labor intensive it may take time to adjust to.

hi Bluesky, I'm a cashier at whole foods market. I go back to the therapist next month in regards to my anxiety . I have to make a follow up appointment with my primary dr. I've been working there for about 2 weeks now

How do you feel while your doing the job, are you anxious most of the time. I could see that would drain your energy, would be similar to a more physical job. Rule out any medical causes with your doctor then work on your anxiety.

I had the same thing when I went from working part time from home to working in a corporate building full time. At the end of my shift I would be so exhausted I felt like I could barely drive home. My work was at a computer and not strenuous.

I think we are already burning so much mental energy with our anxiety that to add on more physical work is so tiring and taxing. It could be too that your body is not use to all that work and may need to adjust. Maybe just making sure you get all the basic stuff your body needs like plenty of water, good meals and rest will help support your body until it gets adjusted. I hope it gets better for you soon. I know how hard it is to be tired all of the time.

For me I get exhausted from work because of my anxiety. My nerves brain fear are working overtime compared to someone without anxiety. Think of it as a car engine revving all the time rather than running smoothly. You run out of gas faster and wear and tear happens quicker.
