Panic attacks : Are panic attacks on... - Anxiety and Depre...
Panic attacks
I have them too. I just feel that people talk about them more... maybe??? I do feel that is a good question.
Lilyofthevalley... I had my first panic attack in 2000. It had been a bad year for me and my family. I thought I was having a heart attack and headed to ER. I was bombarded with all kinds of tests and all was good. That’s when a Psychiatrist popped in and talked to me about Panic Syndrome. I had no idea!!!! Anxiety and PA have been my companions till this day. Gets better and comes back. Personally, these times we’re living are times of uncertainty and turmoil. Hatred has consumed the population in a way that affects us, sufferers more than we know. I think that’s why anxiety and depression are on a rise. The good news is that you as well as I are not alone and we need to stick together to make the best of it. Accepting our disease and not being afraid to have dreams and goals in life is what keeps us going.
I think they are in the rise, but at the same time were getting a little better at understanding them and talking about them. Some good work has been out to reduce the social stigma of mental health.
I feel people would have experienced them but not known what they were. Now there is more understanding of mental health so people can feel more free to get support.
I think life in general is more stressful than it was back in the day, I was born 1957 and I think that today there are more panic/anxiety attacks.. I however would bet that people who did have panic attack back in the day, didn't have a name to identify them. It is also much more acceptable to talk about such things emotions/shrinks, as back then it was more private.
I think people are just more open and brave enough to talk about them now 😊
The worst panic attack I ever had was while I was dropping into hypothyroidism. Now that I'm GF and well-treated via a T3+T4 regimen, I don't feel even mild panic.
That's great it's unfortunate that so many others struggle ? I can't understand how they develop and what's involved
Most MDs in the USA don't know how to get to first base, in diagnosing the root cause of mental-health problems. They mistakenly think they can "cure" patients with toxic meds like anti-depressants, benzos, anti-psychotics. All of which I tried, and found wanting.
