Just joined a short while ago. My therapist suggested looking into online groups. This is the first time doing this and the first group I joined. I've been treated for depression for over 40 years. Have been to many therapists and made no progress. Started seeing a new therapist in February 2019. My plan was to get to the bottom of my problem and get over it. We determined the root of the problem. Since then, I have spent time in a partial program, was hospitalized for 5 days, have had med changes and need more. Not sure what else to say.

New to the group and feeling hopeless
That’s a really good start. Everybody on here is remarkably supportive and kind and all, so just talk about whatever you think is important or that bothers you regularly and you’ll have answers in no time.
Sounds like you’re making great progress after all those years of suffering. Finding the root cause is a big step in helping determine the course of action, as you will now be tackling the bull by the horns, as the saying goes. Just know we’re all here for you... your support group... the people who get you! Keep sharing your feelings and you’ll continue to make progress, and then that hopeless feeling will ever so slowly diminish. Sending you a big hug! Keep fighting... you got this!
Wow, I am so sorry! That's a long haul! Praying you find peace and joy to be more your norm! Definitely important to get to the bottom, and find the source of your sorrow. Also, very important to take care of your physical health too, so you are well to deal with the mental aspects in a better way. So, I do suggest you take a good multi vitamin to get your needs met, food just doesn't do it any more w the soil depletion. Also, getting away from grains can help a lot, and taking probiotics to heal your gut. There is much study about the gut health affecting the mind and mood. Grains are so full of gmo and pesticides they kill all the good gut bacteria. Even if you don't take a good multi, take magnesium malate and ginseng since they are great to calm the mind body and spirit and get rid of sticky negative thoughts that loop around. Getting outside at least 30 min. every day is important to get the vit D you need since it boosts mood too. Volunteering is great to help you as you heal others too. Also, there is usually a great team to find like minded friends there. Best to you in this journey, may you find green pastures to rest in and find what you need. <3
