Hi! This is my first time on this site. I’ve dealt with an anxiety disorder for a couple of decades. I’ve always treated with exercise, diet, and homeopathic tinctures. About 7 months ago, I began having trouble with my 16 year old, which has left me spiraled into extreme anxiety, panic attacks, and now depression, something I never dealt with in the past. I’m having the whole depersonalization, major brain fog, cloud thinking and feeling foreign in my own body. I’m beginning to create phobias, not wanting to leave my house. I just saw my primary today and she put me on Lexapro, this is my first time taking pharmaceuticals. I’m hoping they help. Could anyone tell me about this particular drug.

Hi, I’m sorry your going through the nightmare of anxiety and depression but don’t despair, I also was on a downhill spiral and was put on Lexapro. My sleep came back, my panic attacks went away, and I stopped crying everyday. It takes a couple weeks but it does work quickly. I also started seeing a therapist and attend a support group called Celebrate Recovery.

That’s definitely encouraging! Thank you so much. I’m currently searching for a therapist. I just started the medication this morning. 🤞🏼
