My name is Alexa and this is my first time doing something like this. I am 20 years old and I go to therapy for my generalized anxiety disorder. Lately, it has been super hard to not feel alone through my issue. I feel as though I don’t have many friends to support me through this hard time in my life of figuring out how to feel okay with myself. On top of that, I don’t know how or where to make new friends. This will be my senior year of college and it worries me that I will feel alone this year. Any help or advice? Thank you so much. And I hope that you all find peace within your issues.

Hi friend Readin....you are so right. Friends to be are just around the corner for both you and alexah. This is a great caring support forum. We look forward to sharing our journey together. xx
Welcome Alexa, we're so glad that you're here... we're "hear" for you in any way to be helpful🤗 When someone else really understands what you're going through, it relieves so much of that weight. I hope that we can do that for you! And congratulations on your final year in college, let's make it a good year for you❤
This is so wonderful to hear. Thank you so much!! ❤️ I’m trying my hardest to put out positivity in the world so that is what I can get back. The law of attraction has been helping out with a lot lately so I’m trying to keep that mindset going
You're trying very hard and it's going to help tremendously! Thinking positive thoughts and giving positive vibes will help to rewire your brain. Keep up the great work, we are here for you 😊
I just joined yesterday. I actually feel a ton better just writing things out. I'm sorry that you are feeling alone. No one else in my family or my husband's family has anxiety, and I constantly feel looked down upon because of it. I'm so happy for you that you sought help earlier than I did. I didn't start taking medication or anything until I was 23. I struggled horribly. College is the best time to meet new people. I always enjoyed the company of others in my major/area of study. Are you involved in an campus groups? That may help. I met some of my closest friends when I was in choir in college. Please know that you are supported and loved here no matter what.
Thank you so much. I’m so sorry things turned out for you in that way. But I’m also glad you finally sought help. I’m actually apart of a sorority on campus. Even then it’s hard to find One set friend that reciprocates the same energy I give off. I’m always the one who shows more love than I receive. So it’s just been pretty hard. But I will be inactive this semester so I’m actually thinking of joining a different club this semester. I’m not too sure which one yet. I just want to feel included & I yearn to find that One friend who I can stick with, you know?
I can understand not wanting to be alone and have no friends.....nobody wants to feel alone. Do you have social anxiety?......do you think you would be interested in joining any clubs at school with other like minded people....I liked my folk music club, art, philosophy, photography, writing.... there are things to do that don't involve drinking and going to clubs....that would be best to get to know people.
I was diagnosed with generalized anxiety disorder. However I do feel as though I show symptoms of social anxiety. Yes I’m considering joining different clubs this semester. I want to be around people who reciprocate the same love & care that I show others
