Hi, all. As you might already know from some of my previous posts, I deal with a lot of existential anxiety and depression produced from asking really deep questions. Many of these concern the afterlife, the meaning of life, the existence of God, ethics, identity, and other philosophical issues. Sometimes, I worry so much about these things that I cannot focus or become extremely depressed or will have anxiety attacks. I have heard that worrying about spiritual/religious/philosophical issues like this can be a symptom of Obsessive-Compulsion Disorder. Is it possible that this might be something I am dealing with?

Spiritual OCD???
I don't think you have OCD based on just this symptom, but a doctor will be able to answer that better. Like you, I have anxiety attacks thinking about the afterlife. The idea of heaven being all that happens after life scares me to no end, but I found reading stories of reincarnation helps me. Maybe it will help you too.
If you believed in Jesus and God you.would feel safe but noone can tell you what to believe?
You are looking for the meaning of life and that's a good thing it shows you are intellegent
It is scary though bc of all the bad things that exist spiritually in my quest for truth I came to the unmistakable conclusion that God exists He loves us and He wants us to follow His son Jesus from this I have found safety from.all the bad stuff
There is an.afterlife too.I have been.sent dreams from loved ones that have passed on
